In der 35. Straße werden van Dusen und Hutchinson Hatch in eine Kutsche gezerrt und in das Quartier des ermordeten Mafia-Bosses Pasquale Malavita verschleppt. Nun entwickelt die Denkmaschine ein nicht ganz uneigennütziges Interesse, herauszufinden, wem es gelungen war, den äußerst gut bewachten Mafia-Boss zu erschießen.
