About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

A priest is murdered and a Private agent is the number one suspect.

Jack Morgan is in Rome celebrating the opening of the new local Private office, when the party takes a deadly turn. Private agent Matteo Ricci is found at the party standing over the body of a dead priest with a gun in hand, swearing he did not kill the man.

As Jack tries to prove Matteo's innocence, he uncovers a much deadlier conspiracy - which leads straight to the heart of the Vatican.

With corruption closing in on all sides, Jack must decide who he can trust before the city falls.

Critic Reviews

Patterson knows where our deepest fears are buried... there's no stopping his imagination
A writer with an unusual skill at thriller plotting
No one gets this big without natural storytelling talent - which is what Jim has, in spades (Lee Child)
Patterson boils a scene down to a single, telling detail, the element that defines a character or moves a plot along. It's what fires off the movie projector in the reader's mind (MICHAEL CONNELLY)
James Patterson is The Boss. End of. (Ian Rankin)
Patterson is in a class by himself (Steve Berry)

nothing really of notem very basic cookie cutter stuff like the last few.
the narrator is a bit bland, the story is basic and just ridiculous as you expect in these things.
overall, you know what you are getting with these and it's just that, a bit of filler to listen to on a long journey. it was fine

pretty generic, does the job
