Sarah Hawley delivered another knockout. Princess of Blood picks up seamlessly from Servant of Earth with gorgeous pacing and rich political intrigue. The divine, haunting darkness of the underworld fae realm, the creatures, and layered backstories had me hooked — some emotional moments even brought tears.
Kenna is one of my all-time favourite FMCs: emotionally intelligent, brutally self-aware, and a total underdog who owns her power with razor-sharp instincts. The love triangle is done so well it had me genuinely torn between the brooding spymaster (a golden retriever heart) and the other MMC. The spice is perfectly measured — just the right cherry on top that deepens the relationships without ever taking over.
Mia Hutchinson-Shaw’s narration is phenomenal and brings every haunting note to life. If you loved Servant of Earth, this is an easy 5 star upgrade. Highly recommend for fans of smart plotting, emotional depth, and fae politics with real stakes. Can’t wait for book 3!

Do NOT read the next book in this series. You DETEST whingy, whining FMCs, and this one is a victim through and through. You'd think the FMC would realise that there's got to be a point where she realises that things are out of her control. and it's NOT HER FAULT, but no, still the whining inner dialogue right to the bitter (detested the ending too) end.
