I'm glad I'm done with the "Forging of Luke Stone"
It's a good story, the narration is grating. the protagonists almost all sound like whiny gangsters from the 1930's-50's, accents get butchered, intonation more playful than in the suck ... I'm glad there's another narrator for the full fledged Luke Stone series.

"MEH" A lot of hype, and no bite!
The plot This plot (in my opinion) lacks imagination. Overall the story was not very engaging because it was one of those stories where the villain is laughably shallow, and yet so many steps ahead of the good guys. When I say shallow, I mean like cartoon villain shallow. Oh this guy wants to destroy two-thirds of the world because... Mother Russia, and nostalgia for old the soviet days. Yet he gives no thought to how prepared Russia will be for a ruined world, and economy. The characters Like the cartoon grade villain, the good guys lack serious depth. Towards the middle story one of the main characters, (a real badass, bad boy like character) tries to distance himself from the big fight. But then out of nowhere he gets sweet talked into joining the operation anyway. The performance Like many I would agree that this narrator really didn't do a good job breathing life into this story. Arguably the story was not that good to begin with. However, he really managed to make the characters either sound really flat or whiny.

A Slow Rolling...
Not my favorite. The verbal sound effects distracted from the action being described. Use an audio file or text to illustrate the desired noise. The 8+ hour countdown was ridiculous. Being in a hurry or racing the clock does NOT make you faster. It felt like filler from a another writer. Funny it sounds like I didn't enjoy the story but I did but it felt really hurried.

Worlds Biggest Bad@$$ sounds like a whiney B.
I thought in the last couple books that the narrator was completely off from the tone of who Luke Stone is. The high pitched nasal whining finally got to me in this one. When the writing and narration can make Navy Seals seem like frightened teenagers at magic the gathering party...... I knew I had to write this. It was just too much this time.

An ok thriller.
By the numbers thriller with plenty of clichés. Still, it kept me amused on a few long car journeys! The narrator is decent enough but the Russian accents are pretty bad.
