There is no real evidence that humans ever 'domesticated' cats. Rather, it seems that at some point cats saw the potential value to themselves of humans. John Gray's wonderful new book is an attempt to get to grips with the philosophical and moral issues around the uniquely strange relationship between ourselves and these remarkable animals. Feline Philosophy draws on centuries of philosophy, from Montaigne to Schopenhauer, to explore the complex and intimate links that have defined how we react to and behave with this most unlikely 'pet'.

Story
For decades, the medical community has looked to a variety of reasons for why we age, and the consensus is that no-one dies of old age; they die of age-related diseases. That's because ageing is not a disease - it is inevitable. But what if everything you think you know about ageing is wrong? What if ageing is a disease? And that disease is curable. In Lifespan, Dr David Sinclair, one of the world’s foremost authorities on genetics and ageing, argues just that.

Publisher's Summary
It's no secret that the US health care system is in a state of disrepair, but the rabbit hole goes deeper than even the staunchest critics may realize. In Primal Prescription, authors Doug McGuff and Robert Murphy combine their expertise in economics and medicine to offer a shocking, disturbing, and ultimately enlightening view into America's health care system. You'll discover the real history of what went wrong with US health care and insurance, and why current efforts to clean up the mess are only making things worse.
But far from leaving you feeling helpless at the dismal - and sometimes deadly - state of affairs, Primal Prescription equips you with both the knowledge to understand the health care conundrum and the tools for navigating your way out of it. McGuff and Murphy offer an evidence-based "game plan" for taking control of your own medical care, protecting yourself and your loved ones regardless of what the future holds for the rest of the nation.
Whether you're currently tangled in America's broken health care system or simply trying to avoid its clutches, Primal Prescription is a must-have resource for taking your health into your own hands.

Great to hear the specific case points and to hear Murphy's take on things.
What didn’t you like about Brad Kearns’s performance?
Narrator chortles whenever he encounters anything remotely ironic or striking. But, his voice and manner was otherwise very much appropriate.

Gawd awful listening.
Would you consider the audio edition of Primal Prescription: Surviving the 'Sick Care' Sinkhole to be better than the print version?
I have not read the print version, but I intend to. This audio version is a disgrace to the content. Brad Kearns reads way to fast to allow me to absorb the content of what he is reading. Then he includes annoying .....chuckles. Everywhere! We are talking about health care in America today. Its not even remotely amusing. I couldn't take much of this. In fact, it got even worse as the book went on.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Primal Prescription: Surviving the 'Sick Care' Sinkhole?
The solutions offered for some of our basic health care issue today. But, like I stated, I could not absorb the valuable content so I am returning this audio version and buying the book. America desperately needs this book. Shame on you for casting this reader.

Excellent book, although I was unhappy with the narration.
This book was great! I love the way they structured the information. Everything led up to the conclusion, which was, take control of the situation yourself. I will read this book again to make notes on how to organize my own health care.
The narrator's frequent laughter, poor pausation, and inconsistent pronunciation was disturbing to the flow of thought. However, poor narration is better than no narration :-)

Great book, lousy narration
This is full of excellent, well written information on the primary illnesses of today's "health care" system. If highly recommend for any of my friends and family. However, the narrator was lousy. Constantly interjecting his own attitude into the information. If you can get past that, it's a great listen.

Love the book, hate the reader
Would you consider the audio edition of Primal Prescription: Surviving the 'Sick Care' Sinkhole to be better than the print version?
No. I was really looking forward to the audio book, so I could listen while I worked, but the narrator on this really does the book a disservice.
Who was your favorite character and why?
It's not really a character book, but I guess....Bob Murphy?
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Brad Kearns?
Anybody else. He couldn't even read the words right. It felt like he was making fun of the book the whole time.
Any additional comments?
I think this is an amazing book. I wish they would reupload it with someone else reading it. I could barely even listen to it.

The Narrator was Horrible
Honestly this book isn’t bad. But listening to this narrator killed it for me. I had to barrow the book and read it myself because of how unprofessional he sounds when reading. He sounds like a cynical snobby entitled jerk due to his timing of when a conservative statement is presented in the argument. I had my partner listen to an excerpt where you clearly hear this whining “tool” stifle a laugh. He went as far as listening to the book for a chapter and like me had to turn it off. I’ve never had an experience where the narrator was the reason why I couldn’t read through a book. I’m disappointed. The narrator should be a pleasant, pleasurable voice that is not biased or uses subtle tones in his voice when something he is reading is not to his liking. He should be reading the words in the book as they are written. Over all this is a unique look on the healthcare system that is written by the perspective of a doctor. This is unique because our country is facing a crisis and seeing all views, opinions, first hand experience, and options is essential to making future better decisions. This book has a healthy amount of information but do yourself a favor and read it yourself.
