Great cozy mystery
My first experience with Cindy York and I must say that it's an interesting introduction. The story starts a little slow, but ramps up very quickly. By the end my heart was pounding and I was so worried about Cindy and her family. I also looove Jacques who is the greatest best friend ever. Amy Deuchler did an excellent job narrating. Great pacing and great characterization. **I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

Best Friends...
Priced to Kill by Catherine Bruns is an awesome listen! Having been a real estate agent for years, I can attest that so many of the details described in the book are true. A realtor does not get paid until they sell something, and then they have to split the commission. The fees, the hours, the compensation, all take a toll. Cindy York is back in this book along with her best friend. I love how she unexpectedly investigates the death of her high school best friend, whom she thought committed suicide. What answers does the time capsule reveal? Did Paul commit suicide, or was it murder? This book is full of some totally unexpected twists, which I loved. The narration by Amy Deuchler is incredible. She performs a multitude of characters in various ages, and gives them all distinguishable voices. I could envision so many details through her voice. The banter and emotions are very realistic. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. This book is a standalone listen and part of a series. I highly recommend this book. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Another adventure with Cindy York.............
Priced to Kill is the second in this series featuring Cindy York, a real estate agent and amateur sleuth. Although I read the first book in the series before reading this one, I think Priced to Kill could be enjoyed on its own. In this book, Cindy is a busy lady with a very stressful life. Not only is she the mother of a teenage daughter and grade school aged twin sons, she also works with her best friend and boss Jacques as a real estate agent and gets herself embroiled in solving another mystery. While a senior in high school, Cindy discovered the dead body of her then best friend Paul and has always believed his death was a suicide. When she discovers a letter that points towards him being the victim of murder, she begins sifting through clues in an attempt to find the murderer. Although I knew fairly early in the story the identity of the killer and the reason behind the murder, I greatly enjoyed watching Cindy get to the same resolution. Between terrific interactions with secondary characters like her husband Greg and her best friend Jacques, plenty of family drama with her kids and evil mother-in-law, and some fine investigating on the part of Cindy, Priced to Kill is a fun addition to this cozy mystery series. Amy Deuchler narrates both books in the series, so having that continuity is nice. Deuchler does a fantastic job with the narration. Her delivery is smooth and flawless, and she differentiates well between the characters. I look forward to many future audiobooks in this series narrated by Deuchler. I can't imagine a better choice for Cindy's upbeat, down-to-earth personality. I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

Cozy Mystery
This is the 2nd book in the Cindy York Mysteries series but it stands alone. Cindy York and her business partner, Jacques, have secured a big real estate deal. The house belongs to her best friend's brother. The best friend, had committed suicide 25 yrs ago, or was it something more sinister!. This is an intense story with interesting characters. The narrator did an excellent job. I now want to read the first story in the series! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Fun Cozy Mystery
Cindy York was adamant that she was not going to go to her 25th class reunion. After all, that is where her best friend Paul supposedly committed suicide and she hadn't been to the house since she found his body. When Paul's brother calls Cindy to ask her to reconsider and then offers to let her be the listing agent for the sale of the mansion, Cindy quickly changes her mind. At the reunion, the class opened up the time capsule that they buried when they were seniors and the mystery is on. Catherine Bruns writes a fun tale with likable characters with quirky personalities. Amy Deuchler does a good job narrating the story. She has an easy listening voice that makes the story enjoyable. Entertaining cozy mystery
This is another enjoyable cozy mystery involving realtor Cindy York. Cindy and her business partner, Jack, have secured a million-dollar listing from the brother of her best friend, who had committed suicide 25yrs ago. A mystery illness disrupts Cindy’s life, and a time capsule reveals secrets that set her in search of a killer. This is an entertaining story with endearing characters and sweet twist at the end. The narrator did an excellent job of giving the characters individual voices and bringing out the humor and tension in the story. I will look forward to the next in the series.

Earns 5/5 Cold Case Conundrum…Clever & Engaging!
When listening to an audiobook, the narrator, of course, is key to one’s enjoyment, but if the story doesn't check off all your boxes, then it doesn't matter how the story is being told or by whom. So, we start with Catherine Bruns’s story… New boss, new company, better success for Cindy York, but her past comes knocking…well, phoning. Twenty-five years ago Cindy was devastated to find the body of her high school friend Paul Steadman; authorities labeled his tragic death a suicide. And now? Paul’s older sibling Ben, is hosting a high school reunion dinner. He reminded Cindy of the time capsule they plan to open along with his hopes she take the lead to sell the family’s Victorian, the same house in which she found her dear friend’s body. Wow! Fans will be thrilled and newbies will be hooked when circumstances surrounding Paul’s death turn from suicide to murder. Karma has been biding it's time for the killer to be brought to justice, but better late than never, I always say! The cold case was very engaging with a wonderful first-person narrative and descriptive style, along with delightful dialogue and interactions with her loving husband, hand-full twins, typical teenage daughter, and the epitome of a “monster-in-law”! Karma is a common theme in Bruns’ work for us to vicariously enjoy, but when is the mother-in-law going to be served a big dose! She desperately needs it! Ok, now for the cherry on top! Amy Deuchler greatly enhanced Catherine’s story with her artistry. Right off Amy is challenged performing voices for three male characters. It's always something female narrators struggle with, but she met the challenge well. Her performance goes beyond a traditional reading as she does well with emotions (more than a few groans, squeals, and screams) and illustrating personalities with her tone (I knew the mother-in-law was annoying and the teenager? Amy made it all too real). She did very well changing her voice for many of the characters varying voices for age and gender. Very entertaining! This is one of the reasons I love audiobooks.

Good but too predictable.
This is a good series and I enjoyed this mystery although it was sad. Cindy is not a clever person though and I got a bit frustrated at how blind she was to the many and obvious clues around her. Once the ending became clear to me I couldn't wait for Cindy to catch up and 'cop on' to who the killer was so I could mark this book finished! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reading audio copy.

Remember this word: hormones.
Set a couple of years after Killer Transaction, Priced to Kill finds Cindy now working for her close friend, the delectable Jacques, after he established his own rea!for agency. But life in the house sales market has slowed and Jacques badly needs a really big sale to prevent his having to downsize his business. Fortunately, one such property is about to come on the market and Cindy has been offered the sale. But there's a carch. The gorgeous mansion be!onged to Ben, brother of Paul, Cindy's best friend at school, who had killed himself there twenty five years ago and Cindy hadn't been there since. Now on the eve of the 25th high school reunion to be held at the house, she needs to attend it if she wants to secure the contract for Jacques. Despite her reservations and feeling increasingly unwell, she goes - and realized for the first time that Paul's death could not have been a suicide after all. Author Catherine Bruns, provides a fine mix of Cindy's family life with husband, Greg, their three children, one of whom is a stroppy teenaged girl, and dismissive mofher-in-law, with the investigation of a 25years old crime which wasn't even on the books. Seen throughout from Cindy's perspective, the solution is predictable for the reader but, nevertheless, intriguing and fun to read. The characters are good and brought even more to life by the individual voicing of each one by narrator, Any Deuchler. Her reading of the text is well intoned and natural, closely following the story with full understanding and gentle emotion. She definitely enhances the overall enjoyment of the book. Overall, a very enjoyable book. My thanks to the rights holder of Priced to Kill for freely gifteing me a complimentary copy, at my request, via Audiobook Boom. A recommended cozy mystery.
