The connections in the story were well thought out but I found the frequent focus on the actual sadistic acts felt a bit overdone. Although we are aware these things do go on, perhaps explicit stories might be feeding the fire ?

I don’t know if I can recommend this book because parts of the story are very violent and quite disturbing but it was gripping, as well as being well written and brilliantly read! It was a great holiday listen.

This book, like many of Karin Slaughter's books starts with a violent scene, but it is a little bit slow to warm up.
After about three chapters though, the usual fast pace of Karin's books takes over, keeping you guessing and suspenseful about what will happen next. Some good twists in the plot and a surprising ending.

Wow, it was just what I was after. If you have a weak stomach, some of the parts are quite difficult to read. But it's true Slaughter style.
Loved it and the narrators! At first it took me a bit, especially with Claire. But after the first chapter,I was hooked.

Was sad when it ended. Truly one of those "now what?" Moments 😂
