About this listen

In the heart of the South Pacific lies Point Nemo, the most desolate and remote place on Earth.

At its core is a dead zone, devoid of life, where government agencies crash their obsolete satellites and space stations, confident they won't harm a soul. When the International Space Station suffers a catastrophic failure and plummets through the atmosphere, it's here that Mission Specialist Julie Rohr, an astrobiologist studying living space dust called xylem, finds herself marooned.

Julie's only hope for rescue lies in the hands of her estranged father, Dr. Finn Maddern, a renowned mycologist. Plucked from the depths of the Amazon rainforest, Finn is thrust into a daring rescue mission alongside a team of specialists. Their destination: an impossible island at the center of Point Nemo—an island that shouldn't exist—composed of xylem.

The island is a living enigma, giving birth to strange and terrifying creatures, each generation more evolved and deadly than the last. As the team delves deeper into the island's alien mysteries, they find themselves in a race against time: the island is moving. If it escapes the dead zone and reaches fertile waters, nothing in humanity's arsenal will be able to stop the invasive species from colonizing and remaking the world.

With their team dwindling and the stakes rising, Finn and Julie must confront their past and face an unthinkable choice. To save humanity, a sacrifice must be made. A life exchanged for the world. The burden of survival and the weight of their family's legacy falls on their shoulders.

Point Nemo by New York Times and #1 Audible bestselling author Jeremy Robinson is a chilling journey into the unknown, a tale of sacrifice and survival that blurs the line between science fiction and horror. It's a testament to the lengths a parent will go to protect their child and a stark reminder of our fragile place in the universe.

One point that annoyed me, Point Nemo is in the Southern hemisphere, if you looked up at night you would see the Southern Cross, not the North Star, other than that a good story, it did come across as it was written to be turned into a movie.

Good story

Jeremy Robinson does it again.

This book has it all, a great story with great characters. It's go go go from the starting shot and is like watching the Olympic bodsled races, you're thinking - this is going to be awesome! then you hit the initial slope and pick up sped and your brain says - wow! here we go! Then there's twists and turns and eye opening moments that leave you in a whirl, followed by gut lurching moments and heart ache.

This all combined with the great R.C Bray and you have a recipe for a wild undulating ride which had me listen to it twice in a row before writing this review.

The character stories had me wanting it not to end, and had me cursing (in a good way) Robinson's name for the way they turned out. The story built at a rapid pace and entered a world unknown.

If you like ideas that keep you thinking, especially when ever you look at a particular vegetable, then this is for you.

enjoy! then enjoy it again.

If you like Sci-fi then this is for you.

There is a reason JR's books are a favourite- but it is a secret recipe where you know some of the ingredients like gripping story & dialogue, the incomparable RC Bray, a pinch of humour with a spash of brilliant trash talk amongst gut twisting suspense, but there are other intangibles that you cant quite put your finger on but without them - they just would not be a JR book. He's ruined it for every other author.

Gripping, great banter - master storyteller

Good fun, really inventive story, actual horror and cool monsters. danger save cycle gets a bit much, plot isnt solid and a bit cheesy, but def glad i listened. Some v interesting existential and inventive first contact ideas mixed with fungal intelligence.

Bray is a master obvs, but it’s like he is made for reading J Robs work.

Well worth a credit and one of my favs of his stories.

Repetitive action, imaginative horror sci fi
