En agosto de 1930, el poeta decide "huir" de Nueva York y aceptar la invitación de su joven amigo Philip Cummings, para pasar diez días en una casa de campo que pertenece a los padres de Cummings, a orillas del lago Eden Mills, en el estado de Vermont. Federico García Lorca fue un poeta y dramaturgo español nacido en 1868 en Fuente Vaqueros, Granada. Perteneciente a la Generación del 27, se relacionó con muchos de los escritores e intelectuales más importantes de España, como Luis Buñuel, Rafael Alberti o Salvador Dalí.
