Pinkeltje, een mannetje niet groter dan je pink, is te herkennen aan zijn witte baard en zijn blauwe puntmuts. Hij woont met vijf muizenbroers in het grote huis. Op een dag vliegt hij op de rug van Wipstaart, de kraai, naar Artis in Amsterdam. Daar logeren ze in de kinderboerderij bij Wipstaarts neef. Pinkeltje wordt dikke maatjes met de dieren in de kinderboerderij, maar hij gaat ook op bezoek bij de apen en de beren. Hij ontmoet koning Leeuw en ziet hoe een meneer van Artis een kies trekt bij prinsesje Leeuw. Pinkeltje klimt op de rots in het pinguïnbad, zit op de slurf van de olifant en maakt een praatje met mevrouw Giraffe. Hoe hij ten slotte weer in het grote huis terugkeert? Luister zelf maar!
