En muchos casos el significado de un “phrasal verb” no tiene nada que ver con el verbo base. Por ejemplo: “To blow” significa "soplar". “To blow up” significa "ampliar", "hinchar" y "volar" (¡no "soplar arriba"!). Recuerda: los "phrasal verbs" solo son verbos. Nada más. No te apuntes a la psicosis colectiva que afecta a la mayoría de la población. Este audio aborda el estudio de los verbos compuestos a través de las preposiciones. ¡El secreto está en la preposición! Es poco habitual hacerlo de esta forma, pues casi siempre el estudio se realiza desde la perspectiva del verbo, pero entendemos que al agruparlos por preposición el sentido de la misma repercute más en el verbo que viceversa. Por ejemplo, en una de sus acepciones la preposición “up” tiene el sentido de ‘incrementar’. Por eso encontramos verbos compuestos como “to blow up” ("hinchar"), “to fill up” ("llenar"), “to speak up” ("hablar más alto"), “to speed up” ("acelerar") o “to turn up” ("subir el volumen"). Estudiándolos agrupados ayudamos a que el estudiante asimile esta influencia y le resulte más sencillo llevarlo a la práctica.
