Loved, loved loved this book and this author! A treasure and as always Cat Gould brings all the characters to life. If there is ever to be my "perfect" book, this one will be it. Have relistened to four times now!

Really enjoyed this story much more than I expected. Full disclosure - the humour is often very dry Aussie tongue in cheek and it made me laugh out loud. I grew up on the Gold Coast before Logan became what it is today and perhaps the fact I’m an Aussie who has lived near the locations mentioned makes me much more receptive to this particular humour.
I enjoyed the characters both main and side ones. The age gap power gap trope is okay but the Aussie humour and Aussie performance really pushed it to 5 stars overall for me. Thanks for the fun!

Loved all the local Brisbane details and Aussie words and phrases! Really well written story with great characters you feel you could knew and great humour. Also, hot! Great read.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought, but I wanted to learn more about the characters. I felt distant from the main character, even though she was also the narrator, and the other characters were kind of one-dimensional at best. I liked the Australian colloquialisms, which didn't feel at all forced, as they sometimes can. However, some of the dialogue felt very unnatural, even old-fashioned at times. Without doing any spoilers, the ending was rushed and a bit too wholesome for my liking but that's just personal preference and no fault of the author. I thought the reader was excellent, great voice and pace.

Terrific story and well paced. The MC has a genuine Australian ‘voice’ so, yes, that is how we talk. A very positive message about respecting yourself in relationships. And I would love to know which Queensland politician Bridget is modelled on! Fun read.

Loved the Aussie narrator

The writing was great. It was very real and felt authentic, a couple of actual laugh out loud moments. The only part was the ending felt rushed. I appear to be in the minority, but I wasn't a fan of the narration. The narrator felt like they were just reading the text, rather than acting it. It wasn't enough for me to quit and the writing makes up for it.
