Publisher's Summary

Family. They're supposed to watch your back. Not stab you in it. When the enemy is one of your own, the payback is twice as hard. The Butler brothers are the Kings of the East End, and their motto is ‘what goes around, comes around'. In their world, family counts; so when the truth about Vinny's cousin's death comes to light, it rocks the Butlers to the core. One by one, Vinny's friends and family are turning against him.…

Then, the unimaginable happens - Vinny's little daughter, Molly, goes missing. She's the one chink of light in all their lives, and the one they'd commit murders to bring back. But is it already too late for that? Is this payback? The Butlers are back in this gripping, compulsive sequel to The Trap.

Great story

Love the series of the Butlers. The narrator Annie Aldington brings the characters to life. Listening to this book as opposed to reading it is so much better due to the narration. Unputdownable.

Don't know why I bothered

What would have made Payback better?

Not so long

What could Kimberley Chambers have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

At least have a conclusion where the villains got their cumupence

You didn’t love this book--but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No

Any additional comments?

Only persevered because I wanted to find out what happened. What a let down. At least no precious time wasted as it droned on whilst stuck in traffic.

Predictable.

The characters were shallow; story predictable; narration often grating. Endured expecting a final twist. Disappointed!

its payback time

If you could sum up Payback in three words, what would they be?

Scary SAD memorable

What was one of the most memorable moments of Payback?

When little MOLLY was found dead I was so sorry because she seemed to be the only nice thing about the family

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The one where vinny swapped the drivers seat as I thought if he could do something like that then what would he do next

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The family from hell mess with them at your peril

Any additional comments?

Could there be a more dysfunctional family ever than the Butler's everyone of them had major issues which made this book a fantastic listen

Hard hitting and more

I really wanted to hate this book but I found it compulsive ready. The Butler family have no redeeming qualities the only one I took to is Michael but they stick together and the eldest Vinny is despicable! He seems to feel he is the big man and has no respect for women except for his Mother who is nightmare and he is cut from the same cloth. There is quite a bit of foul language but I could not stop reading. I will definitely be reading the next instalment. The narration was just right, I felt like the story was real. The saddest part of the book is what happens to Vinny's little girl and the shock is who the culprit is and their motive for doing it. Will they be found out???
