Publisher's Summary

Emmett McCabe never expected to see Sydney Stevens - a woman with whom she'd shared a brief, incendiary connection before it all went up in flames - again. Luckily, ascending the cutthroat ladder of a high-pressure surgery residency to reach the top spot makes it easy to ignore what's missing in her life. Then Sydney reappears after nearly five years. Emmett is barely over her shock when she discovers Sydney is her new competition for the coveted chief's position everyone, including Emmett, expects will be hers.

Professional rivalry and long-simmering passions create a combustible combination when the two are forced to work together, especially when past attractions won't stay buried.

My favorite yet.

Having been through all the series book from Radclyffe, this is hands down my favorite of any. I hope this continues. Kinda shipping Dani and Zoey.

Boring

I'm disappointed with this book. Seems like someone could write it in a weekend for a quick buck. Sorry Radclyffe. I love so many of your books...not this one.

Struggled to finish this... 16 chapters in and there hasn't been any kind of... real connection between the two.. nothing.. not even about how they connected before I even started reading the book. Half the book (and I mean 5 goood looong hours) is based on one day.. intro day... in the hospital.... explanations about medical procedures ... atleast got the sense of how it really is in the or room.. but felt too much... every procedure explained which I felt removed the attention from how the two characters were supposed to develop post 1st meeting...

The other half of the book feels rushed.. especially when Syd talking about her past experiences... felt lots of details that I was looking for in the first part of the book were all crammed in the last 4 or 5 chapters, leaving little time to merge it into the story.. feel like there is more to come..
I am a big fun of you Radclyffe but this was a miss.

Cool that Honor and Quinn are back.. favourite couple from the medical romance series...

Definitely Read This One

One of my favorite of Radclyffe's books, which is saying something, considering how many books she has written. Sid and Emmett have an amazing love story.

Excellent story b

Excellent story, but the reading really brought it to life! The first chapter was weird with some crazy intonations but the actress calmed down subsequently. She really lent a voice to every character in the story. Jerry, Danny, Zoe, Quinn, Honor, Emett and Sydney all sound like comletely distinct people. Amazing, I laughed out loud at some parts.

Characters are central to this story and it is absolutely great, everyone are likeable.

The medical side of things are not left either, I actually learned a lot of stuff and gained even more respecr for medical professionals.

Story also didn't drag on, it ended at the perfect time. Every chapter was filled with stuff happening and I never felt bored.

Compared ro Love's Melody Lost where the actress just yeeted the whole story in a monotone at 500 miles an hour this is night and day!

Major props.

Always

The narrator started off a little rough, but I promise keep listening pst the first 15 minutes and you’ll be happily surprised with the results! I can admit to being a narration snob and Lori’s voice in the beginning had me nervous. To Lori - I’m sorry I ever doubted you! The narrator differentiated every character’s voice and nearly made me think there were multiple readers! Incredible job. Radclyffe - as ‘Always’ - I will never stop listening to your books. Please keep writing and we your fans will keep supporting that effort! You’ve helped me believe in the possibility of love again. Thank you.

Constant Vocal Fry

To be completely fair, I was only able to get through the first five minutes of this audiobook. The narration made me extremely uncomfortable, since the narrator for some reason has decided to use her "sultry" voice for the entire text, regardless of whether it is narration or a character, with the end result of it sounding like she was trying to hit on someone through her narration.
Even when she was just reading the title, it sounded like she said it with a wink and a nudge.
If you can get past the narration, the author is apparently a former medical person and so it's probably very well done in that sense. But if eight and a half hours of being hit on through an audiobook does not sound like your idea of a good time, you might want to skip this one.

Boring

was to much surgery. I don't want to hear about surgeries. I mean it went through the whole Surgery. I think Rad
is losing her touch if she has to cover empty space with them.
