Publisher's Summary

Captain Dominika Egorova of the Russian Intelligence Service (SVR) has returned from the West to Moscow. She despises the men she serves, the oligarchs, crooks, and thugs of Putin’s Russia. What no one knows is that Dominika is working for the CIA as Washington’s most sensitive penetration of SVR and the Kremlin.

As she expertly dodges exposure, Dominika deals with a murderously psychotic boss; survives an Iranian assassination attempt; escapes a counterintelligence ambush; rescues an arrested agent and exfiltrates him out of Russia; and has a chilling midnight conversation in her nightgown with President Putin. Complicating these risks is the fact that Dominika is in love with her CIA handler, Nate Nash, and their lust is as dangerous as committing espionage in Moscow. And when a mole in the SVR finds Dominika’s name on a restricted list of sources, it is a virtual death sentence....

Give the Narrator a chance!

Takes some adjustment after Jeremy Bobb, but Jennifer Veletic does a great job! Great impersonations

Exciting, action packed story!

Great follow up to the first book (Red Sparrow). Apart from the main characters, the other characters are a bit 2D (either good or evil)but I like that they all get a bit of a backstory. Love the bits of the story where they engaged in spy-stuff - so fast paced and action packed!

Bloody fantastic!

A thoroughly engaging and thrilling tale of intrigue, sneaky spies and illicit love. Particularly love the commentary from Dominica’s spectral companions.
Also - the recipes at the end of each chapter are amazing!!

Great sequel

Great story, well written. Unfortunately narration left alot to be desired. The attempt at male voices was terrible and the altered pronunciation from the first book of the lead characters name was distracting

Sluggish at times but ultimately satisfying

Really enjoyed this 2nd installment of the trilogy. Rich with trade craft detail and cultural insight the story is mostly engrossing but I did find myself a little Un-engaged. I read lots of comments criticizing the narrator’s performance but I think her work was incredible - with the exception of a couple of voices such as Gable. A little hard to listen to. But her Russian and European accents were superb. Looking forward to book 3!

Part 2

Loved the continuation of the story. I liked the female voice, which gave an authentic sound to the Russian words, especially the female characters.

Thrilling book

Loved the book - although I regret not reading a paperback on this second installment.

I found the narrator laborious and often off the mark on attempted accents and pronounciations, which is a shame as the narrator of the first book added to its appeal greatly.

Great story, cringeworthy accents

The readers accents and voices are barely manageable, but the brilliant story makes it great
