Publisher's Summary

Sometimes history lies, and the tales of Minatsol and Topia are no different. Since the birth of Topia, Staviti has woven a web of deceit around the truth of creation, striving only to maintain his power while destroying anything that gets in his way. Now, Willa and the Abcurses are determined to strip back the layers, to uncover the truth, and to understand the true nature of the two worlds before it's too late.

The only problem?

Any wrong step in their quest to restore balance might have terrible repercussions. Every single being - living or dead - might have to pay the price.

ugly tears of joy

Dear Gods help me, this book gave me chills, tears, and laughter. No spoilers! But both Jane and Jaymin give you all the answers you have been wanting and then some. I will say the ending brought me to tears from pure joy. There are turns in the book that caught me off guard but they make sense of everything that has been happening up until then. The storyline flows nicely and action sequences were superbly written.

Sacred Willa Does It Again!

I love these books! I want the story to go on! Willa is funny, charming and endearing! The family aspect here is so sweet. Please write more about this family, their new world and what new joys and tribulations twinning will bring them! Haha!

Very sad to reach the ending

I have very much enjoyed this whole series/ That being said, this was my least favorite of all the novels I just felt the cusp of the story was resolved very fast without giving us a glimpse into our villain. I would have liked to have seen him earlier and be terrified from them on out and then see the ending we got. IT just felt rushed. This whole world was great and vivid.

The narration was wonderful! It would be half the experience if you only read this series. You get so much more with this narration~ She is stellar!

Decent Ending

These books have been epic up until this last one. It was a bit of an anticlimactic ending. And there were some seriously anticipated sex scenes that fell totally flat, and don’t get me wrong, Jane Washington is hands down my girl and one of my favorite authors, but I could tell she wrote them. It’s notoriously known she does not like to write sex scenes and it shows. I really feel she leaves routinely with blue balls.

The ending and the big fight? It was barely there.

Everything else was the same. Same enjoyable characters and humor.

Another reviewer did say they hated how suddenly Willa lost all her clumsiness - and I did miss that too - but the authors did suggest that her powers finally balanced out which makes sense for the change in character.

Anyway - it’s wrapped up and done, but I couldn’t give it 5 stars. I think it was rushed and that’s a bummer. Otherwise, at least we got a happy ending!

Good completion

Felt like the narration on this was a bit dry and emotionless. Made it difficult to really get into the book.
Glad it finally made it to Audible. Was a good end to the series and wrapped it all up. Seemed a bit rushed and really lacking something that the other books had though.

Love the series, disappointed in this book

Okay, I love this series. It’s definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. We have a hilarious and sassy MC, a cast of hot guys with magical powers, and an interesting fantasy world.
While the writing quality could be improved and the story isn’t a ground-breaking one, the story elements are enjoyable.

This book was my least favorite out of the five books in the series. The elements that make this series such a joy were just missing, almost entirely in this installation. Willa getting herself into hilarious, ridiculous and embarrassing situations is the BEST part of every book, and that was missing here unfortunately. There weren’t the usual funny one-liners that she gives either. There was also only about 2 sexy time scenes (one of them is what we’ve secretly been waiting for the whole time, so that was great to finally read)
There was also a heck of a lot of exposition happening—a lot of explaining pieces of the world so the final plot could come together. That was disappointing and felt like a shortcut was being used by the writers.

The book wraps up nicely, happy endings for everyone. I was just missing the elements that make this series so special and stand out against similar books.

Sucker

Im such a sucker for these books! I just love how it drew me in. And I loved that this final book gave great closure, some books don’t do that. I love love the narrator. I adore Willa and her headstrong attitude. I also love the big burly men that are so protective over her! I enjoyed all of these and will listen to them again!

Like the series but not this one

I like this series of books but did not care for this one. The others made me laugh - not this one. The others had amusing things happen in the midst of all the chaos - not this one. The story line didn’t have as much substance to it. This one was all about preparing to fight Staviti. I found my attention drifting but didn’t care to rewind and see what I missed.
Regarding the performance, I rated it 2 stars because of the way the narrator makes the Abcurses sound. She tries to lower her voice too much and they end up sounding gruff. They don’t sound like good looking, sexy, all male hunks of gods. It would be better if she left her voice normal so the reader could imagine their voices for herself.
