"I didn't want to memorize...I wanted to learn when I studied for the PMP Exam. I was desperately searching for a book to help me see the connections between processes and that explained things in a way that I could understand. The problem was that every book I tried made things too complicated and confusing! I gave up on those other books and started simplifying the concepts in a way that made sense to me. In doing this I created this book! You are going to love how I simplify everything to teach you EXACTLY what you need to know and I weave a real-life project story that will help you finally understand the PMBOK Guide processes! Creating this book transformed how I understood the exam and it will for you too!" (Scott Payne, author of PMP Exam Master Prep)

If you have limited time to prepare for the PMP, DO NOT use this as study guide.

His approach of using Process Groups as a focus for study is sound. However this is clearly a straight copy of video(s) as he references diagram and other content which obviously you don’t get or can’t see as part of an audio book. Despite a number of assurances of help with the exam study, none of my email requests for help was ever answered. There are better and more effficient resources for studying PMP. I stopped using this resource early on due to the reasons above and I passed with “Above Average” result.

Worth the time and money!

There are several considerations you want to think about. Is the course different? Is the speaker boring or are they FIRED-UP! What is their level of sincerity or overall goal? And, what is their approach to teaching you this material? Scott (Payne) has answered all these questions well to a level of satisfaction that I am confident I WILL PASS! He doesn't teach you to cheat - that is illegal and against the standards of PMI. He doesn't share the answers to previous exams - that too is against PMI ethics. What Scott will do is present to you the material in a way that is fresh and exciting, the "why" something is the way it is, and how to make intelligent decisions that transcend "memorization". The Road Map you get with his instruction is invaluable and proven.

Entertaining and beneficial

Scott Payne’s courses are great and his course helped me pass the capm. He has such an enthusiastic voice, is very knowledgeable and super willing to answer any questions, and really does want to help you. I had some silly questions when we’d do coaching calls and no matter what they were he’d listen and help me understand. He never expects to be perfectly well versed, so if you don’t understand something and let him know he will help as much as he can. I loved how he had supplemental videos in each part of the course, they helped a lot to reinforce ideas and the mini chapter tests were great! I passed the exam on my first try of the three attempts given. I only used Scott Payne’s course to help me study because I didn’t want to use a variety as that would confuse me due to teaching styles. I am so happy to have found his teachings and I hope these courses help many other people. I encourage you to dive in and try if you’re serious. Because the results will not disappoint, you’ll have a ton of fun.

Meet the Einstein of PMP

Scott's approach is radical and unique. I've personally been studying for past year and half on and off and finally decided to go all in. I downloaded his book and it was mindblowing. How he approached the exam and all the other things, like what to expect at the testing site. fast forward 5 hrs... I have checked out his website and courses that seem to be far superior to other PMP prep courses I've paid for in the past (Rita). Then my phone rings and its Scott saying " Hey brother, how can I help you pass this exam. " Never has a founder of a prep course reached out and had a conversation to develop a strategy for me to personally succeed. The customer service alone has been amazing and I'm not even a paying student. I cant imagine how engaged Scott and his team must be with his enrolled students. Very impressed to say the least.

Finally a PMP test review for real people

I have been through numerous PMP Test review audio books and until I tried Scott Payne's PMP Master Prep I thought that the others were the insomnia cure that I have been searching for. Scott Payne's approach is fresh, energetic and enthusiastic. Unlike other PMP test prep books Scott's is not choppy, it flows and presents the PMP content in an easily understandable manner that allowed me to wrap my head around the the overall concepts of PM.

Great Teaching Method and Confidence Builder

I've been studying for the PMP exam on and off for the past year. I keep putting off taking the exam because I get frustrated and overwhelmed by the amount of material in the PMBOK. I travel a lot for work so I bought this audiobook and listened to it while driving and even while doing yard work. It's almost 16 hours so you'll get bored if you just sit and listen - so listen while you do other mundane things. The presenter does a great job of presenting the PMP material in a practical way that does not require you to sit and memorize the PMBOK. If you understand the concepts well, and you have real life PM work experience, you should have no trouble passing the exam. You don't need to get 100%, just pass it. They won't even tell you your score, so don't fret about it. After the audio book, I took the sample test and scored 88%, much better than I have done in the past. Had to guess at a few, and it's only 25 questions, so I decided to buy the full practice test and work on my speed and endurance. I'm concerned about running out of time on the full 200 question exam, so I want to be able to speed through the easy stuff. I have one month to prepare for the test, so I'm all in, I'm going to get this done. 2020 will be great!

GREAT STUDY Help for PMP

I have taken a class and have that book, and I have another ebook but THIS Audible book helped the most. Scott is very enthusiastic reader and gets you excited too. I drive 2 hours to work and listen every day and unlike the other book that would have my mind wondering and getting tired THIS BOOK KEEPS ME ENGAGED! Best part is SCOTT is actually ACCESSIBLE.. he gives his email address and answers you! Highly recommend this book. I also purchased his Super Simulator package after listening to this book as a companion and LOVE IT. There are focused tests by Proccess or Knowledge Area so you can hone your skills there before taking the full simulation test with over 1400 questions.

Very interactive, fun and relatable!

I have signed up to take an online class so I can be qualified to apply for the PMP exam. That class was offered by PMI.org and although the teacher was sweet and kind, the online video class was draining and so confusing. It felt like taking a step back from my actual studying. It wasn't;t until after I finished the class that I found Scott and his program. I immediately signed up and can study at my own pace. I enjoy his audio book and his online interactive 'live' classes as I can interact with him and other ppl in the class about the given topic. Its much more involved and sampled to a way that makes sense! The book itself is a whole different language so this class with PMP Master Prep is refreshing.

Best PMP Audio Book by far!

So many other books are crazy boring. This book is the total opposite. It is amazing. Easy to listen to and very very helpful. It breaks things down in a way I can understand and it keeps me interested the whole time. Plus you are going to love the case story. It is a fresh way to learn. You can actually see how the PMP relates to real life. Awesome.

Beware the Fake Reviews

The reviews for this book appear mostly to the extremes - those who hate it because they felt it was too much of a sales pitch and those claiming it was the best guide they've ever read. The truth is that this audiobook lies somewhere in the middle. I'll start with the good and finish with where it needs improvement. It is a good supplemental guide to your studying. If you're reading the PMBOK, taking quizzes, and using other methods of studying then this book will provide support and help you on that journey. It will not, as the author claims, be the only guide you need. The case studies are interesting and the questions that follow are helpful. Additionally, Scott's consistent energy throughout the audiobook makes it easier to listen to a challenging and sometimes dry subject. At times it can come across as a bit corny, but compared to the alternative I'll take the encouragement any day. Unfortunately, most of the very negative reviews for this book highlight some real truths. It is a giant sales pitch. Every 3rd or 4th chapter will either mention the online class or aggressively try to sell it. I could tolerate that once or twice, but to have it consistently thrown at me for a product I paid for is obnoxious. Scott does use his online videos in the audiobook. In many cases this isn't a problem because they work well as just audio. Unfortunately, many of them will say things like "look to your right" or "as you can see here" which renders them useless in audio format. I paid for the audiobook - these should have been re-recorded for the appropriate format and not just re-used for convenience. The book is long, 15 hours in total. I do think it could have been cut down a bit, but probably not much. There is a lot of material to cover and it requires some in depth explanation. If you removed all the sales pitches and revised the videos to work in audio format, it may have been able to be reduced to 11 or 12 hours. Finally, one of the most frustrating aspects of the course for me was the constant comments of "you don't have to memorize this." Throughout the course, Scott will say things like "save that in your head", which is another way of saying memorize it. Even if you learn it in depth to understand the application, several portions of the PMBOK simply require memorization. That's not a bad thing, it's just a fact of preparing for the test. Those comments were used simply to sell the book and they don't ring true.

This book honestly saved me!

Having failed twice, I bought this book and listened twice. Reach out to Scott if you have any questions he will respond and help you out immediately! The only rule to passing the PMP is to understand the process rather than memorizing.

Great resource for PMP exam

I found it a valuable and useful resource for my PMP exam study, and listened to it in addition to another book I had as well as the PMBoK.
