66 CENTS AND STILL SOME CRYBABIES AREN'T HAPPY

This book was sixty six cents and I see reviews complaining about
the quality of the recording. Sean Murphy is one of LibriVox wonderful
VOLUNTEERS. What do you expect for sixty six cents, Scott Brick, or
Edward Herrmann? It's less than one cent per hours of listening.

I'm sorry to get on a soapbox here, but I thoroughly enjoyed listening
to the complete Oz tales. I am grateful for Audible offering this title
at such a good price.

Good book for everybody. I like it because it's not realistic but still funny! It's a solid series👍

Narration is AWFUL

This narrator has a grating unpleasant voice. Skip this one. It is horrible. I love the story but can’t endure his voice. I’m 45 mins in and done with listening.

LibriVox repackaged?

This collection is obviously a really great deal. 70 hrs of content for less then a dollar? That's a no brainer purchase! The problem I have with the collection, aside from a lack of overall production value, is that it seems to be a repacking of LibriVox recordings. There are actually several chapters throughout where the narrator even plugs LibriVox. It sort of cheapens the experience. I think the narrator does a serviceable job. IE - not offensive to the listener. But it is definitely not a compelling listen in terms of acting and delivery. Just passable. I also think the editing could have been better. Lots of breath noise and pops in-between. Again, minor grievance and not overly distracting from enjoying the read.

Great value, great books

These were great to listen to but it was rather annoying that for some books, the narrator would say “end of chapter ...” and then “beginning of chapter ... of .. of Oz.” A minor annoyance but frustrating nonetheless. My biggest complaint is that the Parts aren’t broken up by books. Which means that some books span two parts and you’d have to have the next Part downloaded and ready to listen to. Why they couldn’t be separated by books is beyond me. But for $0.99 I’m not going to argue too much. You get 14 audiobooks books for the price of a candy bar. And they provide 70 hours of entertainment to boot!

Enthusiastically read, very well written!

this story provided hours upon hours of entertainment, I couldn't shut it off. The story had a mixture of logic in their fantasy. Each story was well thought out, descriptive, and satisfying. I highly recommend this collection.

The narrator rly grows on you, great performance.

I fully enjoyed the narrator Sean Murphy's performance. He's enthusiastic, clear, and he knows how to deliver dialogue. If he is off putting at first, I urge you to give it a chapter, and it will soon become quite enjoyable. I've listened to the entire Oz collection and I'm eager to find more classics by this narrator. Thanks Sean Murphy! (he seems to perform under the name Brian Kelly occasionally, or perhaps its an error on Amazon's side ?).

Need new narrator

I’m only into part 2 of this famous book. I didn’t have parents that read me stories before bedtime or anytime. I wanted to see what I was missing. I feel like another narrator with adults in mind would help. Yes it’s a child’s book. And the movie terrified my childhood with scary flying monkeys. I just think this narrator is boring.

Classic Story

Narrator is articulate but entirely too dramatic, resulting in a singsong delivery (with a few unforgivable mispronunciations.)

Awful Narator

I cant listen to this book after purchasing it due to the reader. Inflections all in the wrong place. Really bad reader. Avoid any books read by this person

So slow

The narration really let these books down. Absolutely garbage, belongs in the trash 🗑. If I could send it back I would but I got it on offer. I do not recommend this I anyway at all. It just made me swear at an inanimate object. Shame on me.
