Publisher's Summary

Don't fight for customers; let them fight over you!

Have you ever queued for a restaurant? Preordered something months in advance? Fought for tickets that sell out in a day? Had a hairdresser with a six-month waiting list? There are people who don't chase clients; clients chase them.

In a world of endless choices, why does this happen? Why do people queue up? Why do they pay more? Why will they book months in advance? Why are these people and products in such high demand? And how can you get a slice of that action?

In Oversubscribed, entrepreneur and best-selling author Daniel Priestley explains why and, most importantly, how. This book is a recipe for ensuring demand outstrips supply for your product or service, and you have scores of customers lining up to give you money.

Oversubscribed shows leaders, marketers, and entrepreneurs how they can get customers queuing up to use their services and products while competitors are forced to fight for business; it explains how to become oversubscribed, even in a crowded marketplace; it is full of practical tips alongside inspiring examples to alter our mind-sets and get us bursting with ideas.

It is written by a successful entrepreneur who's used these ideas to excel in the ventures he has launched.

Nothing ground breaking here

Writers personal situation seems to boil down to start by building a business by having a good number of high performing professionals as connections.

TLDR: Be over subscribed by making a product everyone wants, create hype, select a specific target market. Wow marketing 101.

Incredibly valuable book

I’m relatively new to business and after putting Priestley’s guidance into action I’m now booked out 6 months in advance and have a waitlist for next year. I now live by the oversubscribed principles. Very worth the read!

Please narrate your own book!

I found the content to be very good but I can’t stress enough the difference it makes to the listener to hear the book read by the person who wrote it, rather than someone merely reading words with no emotional connection to them.
It’s just so much more engaging.
Daniel, please read your own books in future

Must Read

This book is a must read for any entrepreneur. I am a full-time trader who does not run a business, but I still found it extremely insightful and it gave me plenty of ideas for how to do my job better and increase my credibility and reputation. And maybe even someday build a team and a business venture. In any case, it's clear that this book holds many of the keys to business success.

Get Ready to Dive in Deep

Daniel Priestley....what more can I say than thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Whilst I’m just starting out in my bid to make a real difference on a larger scale.
I feel having been exposed to this audio book, that I have discovered and now understand the key principals of becoming oversubscribed.
I too believe in “Remarkable Delivery” and creating a truly memorable experience for those that work with me and in turn look forward to creating more of this on a much larger scale in the future and to then create more memorable moments with my family.

Phenomenal book, 5*content and no gimmicks.

This book is one of the best books I have read in many years and I read 4-5 per month. The content is superb, no fluff or gimmicks, just true actionable value items that are helping us to make a difference and change lives. Thanks Daniel for providing the gems in there and the chapter that has sparked a new evolution in my business it has brought us further Clariti and reminded me that we are on the right track.

This book is full of insights, strategies and substance!

I am a little reluctant to leave a review for fear of spreading these insightful strategies to far in wide, so the world market is flooded by them.
This worthwhile read is a well delivered combination of insights and strategies to effectively draw in prospective customers.
This is not one of those successful business people who spend the whole book pumping themselves up, nor is it full of empty waffle about finding yourself.
I will be recommending this to business owners in my network.
Now it's time for me to implement!

An audible treasure box of fantastic ideas

Daniel has laid out a clear strategy and so clearly articulated the necessary components to deliver it.

It is rare to find such a detailed action plan in one book.

I can't say enough good about this book, if you are looking for 1 book to read to take your business to a new level, this is the ONE to choose.

Terrific and concise.

This book is immensely helpful to anyone planning to start their own business or improve their existing one. It delivers the core understanding of what business essentially is and how to set it up to be successful. It removes the veil and haze of mystery, making it much more realistic and attainable. And it performs all the better due to the brevity and to-the-point style of delivery. There are many books on this topic, but this title is one of the true gems.

Great advice, but you didn't need a whole book

Great advice, but you didn't need a whole book for it.
Probably would have been sufficient to deliver a TED talk on the topic.
Still, the message is so important that reading the entire book will be a good use of your time.
Highly recommend.

Good book!

I have to say that there are some golden nuggets in this book. I love the practicality of the ideas discussed. The last chapter was not very interesting for me because I don't have and will not in the near future, form a team.

Wow. Exceptional.

I'm a serial entrpreneur (from the US) who has read/listened to hundreds of books about the topic over the past 15 years. More specifically, I'm in the digital marketing field and I'd say this book is spot on the cutting edge of that. I had no idea who Daniel Priestley was before downloading this audio book on a road trip. I'm now a big fan. The value of these principals to anybody with an idea/business/dream are exponential. Do yourself a favor and read/listen to it.

This book is not for 1 or 2 "person" start ups

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The statement that to run an effective CDE (Campaign Driven Business) you need four people should have been made at the very beginning of the book not near then end. I was all excited only to realise I needed to split myself four ways to enable me to implement some of the wonderful ideas.

Would you recommend Oversubscribed to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes, although I repeat Daniel's advice that to run an effective CDE (Campaign Driven Business) you need four people, that aside there are still some very good ideas and confirmations of good practise to be gained by reading or listening to the Book.

What three words best describe Daniel Priestley and Roger Davis ’s voice?

Uninspiring

Do you think Oversubscribed needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Not at this time.

Any additional comments?

More ideas to add to the mix.

Excellent for SMEs

The right book at the right time for an SME looking to do things better. One of the best business books I have read or listened to for SMEs - and I have listened to a lot of them. It can be seen as something of a sequel to Entrepreneur Revolution as it is for the business that already exists but had not yet become dominant in its industry. Packed with useful things to think about, even if they did not all immediately apply to me.

4 times listened too now.

Would you consider the audio edition of Oversubscribed to be better than the print version?

No idea. I don't read print copy due to my ptsd

What was one of the most memorable moments of Oversubscribed?

The last sentence where he teases you about the 'most important lesson'

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. Simply because of my work load.

Any additional comments?

I've been through this audiobook 4 times in the past 3 months.

It's rare I find a book which offers case studies which are not bloated or packed full of ego.
Whilst the author isn't shy, his case studies about his own success seem relevant and not bloated.

I know Rob Gardner who was mentioned in this book and can testify everything stated about him is true. This gives me a confidence in the text and as such I have taken on board much of what is said.

A must listen too.

Good listening experience

The book is interesting, it provides good advices and strategies and the listening experience is good, it flows very well. I would argue that the content is not relevant for freelancers or one man show jack of all trades traders as it advocates a company must definitely have 4 key roles performed by different people.

Don't subscribe to this book.

What would have made Oversubscribed better?

There's something a little hypocritical in an alleged business guru touting the key message that you should give information away for free but charge for the implementation, particularly when that information is contained within a book you've just been charged for. Or perhaps Mr Priestley will be visiting my business premises to implement that information? There were a couple of useful tips in this book, possibly enough to include in a nice little pamphlet that could have been given away by the author for free. I laughed out loud when Mr Priestley himself explained in the books epilogue how he had struggled with the decision to include one of his 'precious' business secrets in a chapter of this book but ultimately decided that he would. However, he'll leave you to guess which precious secret he was talking about but believe me when I say that there are no precious secrets in this book, or at least none that I hadn't already learned for myself through pragmatic experience. The 'precious' business secret is simply a case of the author creating a set of new clothes for the emperor.
