Editorial reviews

Needles can be scary, but they're also necessary - a difficult fact to stomach for those who can't stand that little prick in the arm. Fortunately, Overcome Fear of Injections helps listeners with needle phobia to deal with mandatory injections with calm and self-possession. Award-winning London hypnotist Darren Marks guides listeners through an immersive hypnotic session that utilizes DDH (dual delivery hypnotherapy), which eases subconscious learning by delivering different messages through the right and left ears. Listeners will find Marks's voice soothing and authoritative, giving them the confidence to internalize his messages and learn to accept needles as unavoidable, but nothing to worry about.

Publisher's Summary

Fear is one of the basic, negative but necessary feelings all of us experience from time to time. We feel it for a reason, usually to protect us. Bleeding and cutting yourself or piercing yourself with a sharp object is generally and necessarily considered a bad thing. It is understandable that a part of ourselves could have felt anxious about getting injections or having blood tests, essentially that part of yourself wanted to stop you from getting hurt or feeling pain.

The good news is that when you relax you hardly even feel injections, or if you do feel them, the discomfort is very mild and easy to ignore. If you were avoiding medical treatment because of an old fear of needles or injections then you could have been jeopardising your health rather than protecting it. There is of course a difference between harmless fears which have no or little impact on our lives and strong fears or phobias. If fear keeps you safe and makes you careful that's fine, but if a fear of needles stopped you from getting medical treatment then its time to redress the balance.

This hypnosis recording is designed to help you to reprogramme your mind to react in an appropriate way when getting an injection. The aim is for you to not be bothered, to feel neutral, to learn how to relax, breathe naturally and easily and allow your mind to make appropriate judgements about how to deal with medical situations involving needles.

In addition to this recording being written and delivered by Darren Marks one of the UK's leading hypnotherapists and NLP practitioners, it also utilizes dual delivery hypnotherapy (DDH) and brainwave entrainment. DDH involves different suggestions or metaphors being delivered separately yet simultaneously through the right and left headphones. The effect is deeply hypnotic and has the advantage of helping the unconscious mind to accept beneficial suggestions with less conscious interference.

Brainwave entrainment refers to the brain's electrical resp...
