Publisher's Summary

A story of murder, revenge and betrayal from international number one best-selling author Jeffrey Archer.

The clock is ticking in this roller-coaster ride of a thriller....

In London, the Metropolitan Police have set up a new Unsolved Murders Unit - a cold case squad - to catch the criminals nobody else can. Four victims. Four cases. All killers poised to strike again.

In Geneva, millionaire art collector Miles Faulkner - convicted of forgery and theft - was pronounced dead two months ago. So why is his unscrupulous lawyer still representing a dead client? And who is the mysterious man his widow is planning to marry?

On board luxury cruise liner the Alden, a wealthy clientele have signed up the for opulence and glamour of a trans-Atlantic voyage. But the battle for power at the heart of a wealthy dynasty is about to turn to murder.

And at the heart of all three investigations lies Detective Chief Inspector William Warwick, rising star of the Met.

Only Warwick's genius for deductive reasoning, his fierce intelligence and his occasionally rash bravery - combined with that of ex-undercover operative Ross Hogan, reluctantly brought in from the cold - can bring the criminals to justice, and put his nemesis behind bars. But can they catch the killers before it's too late?

I enjoy the William Warwick series

I think for such a smart person there were a few silly blunders that helped the bad guys.

Always a good story but

Jeffery Archer does it again great story but my god the writing in this story is so pretentious. Some of the characters are becoming unrealistic in their responses to situations. But you should listen to this story all the same as it is very good.

One of his best...

Having read or listen to almost all of Sir Archer's books since the 80's, I can honestly say this is one of his best.
And George Blagden is just fantastic bringing all the characters to life.

However, the interview at the end of the book alone is worth a credit. I humbly advise you not to miss it.

As always it is difficult to put down

May be I have now listened to too many Jeffrey Archer books but I am beginning to feel that there is a certain amount of repetition of character types from his previous books. This feeling of familiarity does not necessarily detract from the enjoyment and I still look forward to listening to the next episode of The William Warwick tale.

How does he keep turning out such readable books.

Loved the Clifton Chronicles and the William Warwick series that followed on. Readers often turn up their noses at the thought of reading Jeffrey Archer but they should give it a try. one of the greatest storytellers we have.

Each book in the series just gets better

Phenomenal, exciting, written at a great pace and takes you where you never thought it would. If you haven't listened to the previous 3 other books, you really must in order to fully understand the characters and their part in all the twists and outcomes.

Just amazing: I wish Mr Archer could just release all 8 books in one go that he says will make the series.

disappointed

predictable and a little unbelievable making it difficult to get engaged. After purchasing it I couldn't listen to more than a quarter of it before deciding not to finish it. Have to add I'm generally a fan of the author so disappointed.

More excellence

Another brilliantly written instalment, full of twists and turns, by the master of storytelling. Kept me hooked from the first line to the last.
