Publisher's Summary

Two brothers learn of the apocalypse after being out of touch for a few days. Returning to town, they learn first-hand, the dead are coming back to life with a taste for flesh. With their parents in Nebraska they must embark on a journey to rescue them as they set into motion their zombie apocalypse plan. But they'll see not all is fun and games as they realize it is nothing like they imagined it would be. Can they make it in time to save their parents from a fate worse than death?

Emmett Wolfe has been preparing for this day for years, but still cannot believe it is happening. An infection unlike any other has begun to spread across America and the world as he knows it is coming to an end. He must rescue his daughter and ex-wife and transport them to a safe location.

But nowhere is safe anymore....

Good storyline

Seemed a bit far fetched but I think that’s because I’m in Australia and we don’t have the same guns controls - I enjoyed it non the less and that’s what I would want if zombies occurred.
I can see how craziness would come out that quickly.
I’m keen for those who survived to the end to survive again.
Looking forward to the next book 📖

Good book

This is a pretty good book. It seems to be leading in the direction of a come back your faith kinda deal. But it's not too preachy. It may even be "this is the beginning of Revelations" They mention the first trial being a plague a couple of times. oh and the people are definitely worse than the zombies. So, it's a different take on zombie books.

Unfeasible under the widest of margins.

Holes, holes and more holes. I couldn't like it, nor could I complete it. The main characters had no substance. They didn't behave like anyone from a small town I've ever known. They claimed to have plans. The author details what they shoot and what they wear. (Knowing a gun is something everyone would expect but clothes??? If it's comfortable, if it's camo.. It's fine.) Church members check on each other. You care about your neighbors, your kin, the kids you grew up with, old girlfriends, best friends.
Giving these characters some real emotions would have added to the story. Being separated from their parents? Where was the depth of a child's love for their parents??? Don't get me started on the lack of supplies and planning they took in leaving their town...
They literally cared more about what they wore than people, their parents or actual supplies.
WTF?
And yes, my husband, a retired veteran felt offended by the same things.

A little sappy

This seemed like a teen book. Not bad but a underdeveloped. Good for a zombie fix.

Average..in a good way

Just a rub of the mill Zombie story. I liked the characters even though they were a bit stereotypical. This gave me my zombie fix until the next great one comes about.

Narration was above average. Was able to distinguish between characters.
