Publisher's Summary

Savanna Shepherd, a former art authenticator, has a talent for spotting secrets hiding in plain sight. In the wake of a painful breakup, she moves back to her idyllic hometown on the banks of Lake Michigan. At least she’s close to her sisters again, and she’s enjoying her new job as a grade school art teacher. Savanna even rediscovers her creative soul when an old family friend hires her to paint a mural. But sad and strange incidents occur at the woman’s mansion, compelling Savanna to investigate.

With a little help from Aidan, the intriguing town doctor, will she be able to figure out what’s wrong with this picture?

Meh, I would have liked the Hallmark movie better.

First let me say I love Hallmark movies. They are uncomplicated, short, sweet and to the point with a happy ending. Some so sweet you go into a sugar overload. When I watch Hallmark movies they are 2 hours of happiness, with commercial breaks. This was long, drawn out and at times boring to the point of I’d rather wash my dishes in silence than continue another chapter. Does this seem harsh considering my love of the Hallmark movies. I think not, had this been a movie I would have enjoyed the 2 hours and moved on to whatever else was on the DVR. Long and short for once a movie would have been better.

Good mystery, yet sweet and lighthearted

If you're a fan of Hallmark movies, you'll like this story. I loved the Shepherd sisters and family dynamics, the small-town setting, and the sub plots. The narration was easy to listen to and understand. I like forward to the next Shepherd Sisters mystery.
