Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Out of the Dark by Gregg Hurwitz.

As a boy, Evan Smoak was taken from the orphanage he called home and inducted into a top secret Cold War programme. Trained as a lethal weapon, he and his fellow recruits were sent round the world to do the government's dirty work.

But the programme was rotten to the core. And now the man responsible needs things to be nice and clean. All evidence must be destroyed. That includes Evan.

To survive, Evan's going to have to take the fight to his nemesis. There's just one problem with that. Jonathan Bennett is President of the United States, and Evan isn't his only victim.

To save himself - and the country - Evan is going to have to figure out how to kill the most well-protected man on the planet....

So satisfying

As with all books in the series the concept of justice and the legal system creates an excellent context. I enjoyed the book and cannot wait for the next one. In many ways Evan portrays what many of us think privately. Excellent and an easy five star

Edge of my seat all the way.

Scott Brick + The Nowhere Man = unbeatable.
I literally couldn’t stop listening to it. Thank God it’s over as I can finally get some sleep!
This character is fast becoming my favourite action hero. If you’re new to the series then start at the start, sit back and enjoy the ride.

A little disappointed

This fourth book didn't have the same excitement for me as the other three. It was much more political, which I didn't like; and it didn't have as much emphasis on the "Do you need my help?" storyline.

I still enjoyed it, but was a little disappointed.

Love this author

This guy writes so well I feel like I am there. I can't recommend him enough. It's a romance, a thriller, an adventure do-gooding rescuer hero with plenty of realistic flaws. Just my kind of listen. Bought the book too.

Great read!

I really enjoyed the book. it was great seeing the main character, Evan Smoak's, personality come to life more, his sense of humour, all be it, dry sense of humour made me laugh a few times! all in all a great holiday read!

So well conceived and executed

I love the character of Evan Smoak. This plays to all his strengths and the narration is as strong as the other books. Scott Brick has a terrific style. I found myself sitting in the car listening to the end of each chapter. Didn't want it to end.

Another thrilling instalment in the Orphan X series.

Hurwitz continues to keep us thrilled and entertained as Orphan X goes all out for justice and revenge, to take down the President of the United States, the most guarded person on the planet.
As if this weren’t enough, he also continues to take on a mercy mission as The Nowhere Man, helping an innocent in dire need of his help.
I couldn’t wait to finish this book, but now I have I want the next one now! Brilliant! Excellent performance once again by Scott Brick.

The Nowhere Man 😍

Gregg Hurwitz have a way with words that I love and I’m thoroughly addicted to it. I’m yet to be disappointed with the Orphan X books and I don’t think it’s likely to happen. I’m hoping that there’ll be many more books because I’m enjoying this journey too much 🎉🎊, so gimme more Evan Smoak, Peter and Mia and the residents of Castle Heights.
