About this listen

Being rescued by a hot lumberjack after catching his fiancé cheating was the only good thing to happen to Beau for quite some time.

Getting stuck in the man’s cabin for the weekend? There were definitely worse ways to pass a few days.

Falling for him when the guy made it clear he didn’t do relationships? Well, Beau just wouldn’t do that...probably.

Out in the Cold is a 25,000-word novella with a 39-year-old furniture maker who is done with disappointing relationships, a 25-year-old accountant with terrible taste in fiancés, a remote cabin in the woods during a snowstorm, and a rescue dog with more sense than his owner.

Accountant Beaumont Singer has a rude shock when he catches his fiancée cheating. In sorrow and rage, he heads out into a snow storm until he can’t go any further. Luckily, he chances on a remote cabin in Knotting Pines where he meets big & beefy lumberjack Cooper Anderson who puts him up for the night and keeps him warm. I have a soft spot for forced-proximity tropes and, despite the quick insta-lust, this age-gap / opposites-attract romance was sweet and satisfying. I liked that Beau was not your typically muscly, zero body-fat, gay lead character and that Cooper found him attractive anyway. I’m always a fan of Michael Dean’s audio narrations so that was (frosted) icing on the cake!

Cute snowed-in together romance!
