Otto Schenk (*1930), geboren in Wien und nach den Nürnberger Gesetzen ein "Mischlingskind", erlebte eine von den Schrecken des Nazi-Regimes geprägte Kindheit. Nach seiner Ausbildung am Reinhardt-Seminar begann er seine Karriere als Schauspieler und Regisseur am Theater in der Josefstadt und dem Wiener Volkstheater. Parallel war er als Kabarettist auf den Wiener Kabarettbühnen zu sehen, unter anderem im Simpl. Es folgten Engagements an den bedeutendsten Schauspiel- und Opernhäusern der Welt sowie die Direktion am Theater in der Josefstadt. Nach wie vor ist Otto Schenk auf den Bühnen des gesamten deutschen Sprachraums zu sehen, auch mit seinen berühmten humoristischen Lesungen.
