Publisher's Summary

After two years of taking care of her heartbroken father, Evie needs a new start. Leaving the States and following her sister to Australia to work as the personal assistant of rugby star Xavier "The Beast" Stevens seems like the right kind of distraction.

Tall, muscled, and devilishly handsome, Xavier is the love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy. He never forgets a girl's name because he never bothers to remember it in the first place. Evie soon realizes that being Xavier's assistant is a 24/7 job; the man seems unwilling to even set an alarm for himself.

As she watches him move from one woman to the next, Evie is glad that her heart is safe from his attention. After all, she's a far cry from the size zero models he usually takes to his bed.

But soon being around Xavier doesn't feel like a job and seeing him walk around his apartment half naked all the time isn't helping either. Evie knows that giving in to her attraction will lead to heartbreak, but when Xavier starts treating her as more than just his assistant, resisting his charms seems like an impossible task.

Meh.

Extremely bad Australian accent by male narrator, made Xavier sound like a complete bogan. Evie's insecurities were annoying.

Worst Australian Accent

Please next time get someone that can do an Australian accent or an actual Australian.

I LOVED the Story. But the Tom Kennedy accent was really to listen to.

okay

this book was ok. as an Aussie there were a few problems that made me cringe every time they came up. firstly, the male narrator did a crap accent and sounded like a mix of Wayno the draino from down the pub and a westy bogan, secondly, he plays for the tigers and they have a game against the sea eagles, which means he was playing rugby league or what we refer to as footy. we say rugby when we are referring to rugby union. thirdly, the tigers training ground is out near concord, so I'm doubting he has a view of the Sydney harbour Bridge or the Opera house. we also do have cheerleaders here but it's nothing like what they have in the states.
female narrator did a good job.

One of my favourite massacred by the narrator

Cora this is cringe. Tom Kennedy has ruined one of my favourite books. Did he think the brief was to portray Xavier as a Paul Hogan parody?
Rugby players do not sound like this. I have no idea how this was approved .
Of all of the sexy deep Australian voices that could have told this story. Is this a joke?
