Six shots. Five dead.

A heartland city thrown into terror. But within hours the cops have it solved. A slam-dunk case. Apart from one thing. The accused gunman refuses to talk except for a single phrase:

Get Jack Reacher for me.

Reacher lives off the grid. He's not looking for trouble. But sometimes trouble looks for him. What could connect the noble Reacher to this psychopathic killer?

Although the Jack Reacher series can be listened to in any order, One Shot is the 9th in the series.

What I think, which isn't important.

The musical brakes at the high points was annoying, but even with that the story was amazing.

First Jack Reacher film

If only Tom Cruise had used an actor that meet the guy in Lee Child's book's instead of himself in n it he lead he could have had a ongoing hero like James Bond.

Not a fan of the musical interlude between each chapter.

As always Jeff Harding does a cracking job with there voices.

I expect noting less from Reacher

I tripped over the Jack Reacher character prior to the movie. And although Tom Cruise can't really fill Jack reachers boots, purely on size along, he did a good job portraying Reacher in the first movie that was based on this book. But the Reacher character and this story cannot be fully captured in 2 hours and the book is a far more compelling read than the movie. So I encourage all to listen to the book prior to watching the movie. Enjoy both and note the differences.

Jeff Harding is an interesting Narrator. I'm not sure if he would be suited to any type of book, but he has Reacher and the other characters nailed in the book. Just Brilliant.

good book, very well read, didn't care for the musical interlude between each chapter, however

Great story

Loved the story and the narration is amazing as always, but hated the music between most chapters. It really takes you out of the story and was jarring. This wasn’t done in the other Jack Reacher stories I’ve listened to so far.

Good book. Bad production.

The constant music interrupting was a real distraction. Story was good. The 1st movie was based on this book.

The silly music

Loved the story. But the silly music inserted throughout was annoying. It came across like a poor edit rather than something that added to the story.

Yes it is the movie but …

Okay as many people have said this book is the one they based the first Tom Cruise movie, Jack Reacher, on. I liked the movie, I’m a person who really likes movies because I’m dyslexic. But listening to the book is just as good. They changed the movie enough that listening to the book gives you another perspective. My biggest problem was in the other books I picture Jack Reacher to be as Lee Child describes him. During this book I had a conflict over Child’s description and the portrayal by Tom Cruise. It really bugged me because Tom is definitely not tall enough or muscular enough for the part but he did inhabit the roll.

All in all it was a really good book and one did enjoy. People always think that the book was much better, in this case it was better but not by much. If you’ve seen the movie, I’d still give this book a go, like I said it’s good. If you haven’t then definitely one to listen to. 4 stars.
