This book is the real deal.

I was only 2 chapters in and I'd already learned more than another third party Full facebook Course had taught me. After digging deeper into Brendan's skills and achievements I knew 100% I had found the book that was going to change the game for me. No fluffed out, drawn out stories, just real world short, punchy examples that carry some serious results. Really glad the Author narrated his own book, I always find those books best. I've purchased 3 other social media books (authors un-named) and not one of them even comes close. Don't waste your time elsewhere, grab this book and start taking action.

Good to listen to

Yes I enjoyed the book. I did find that he talked the book up way too much... sometimes more talking about how good the book is, rather than focussing content. Still good content nonetheless :)

Highly Useful and Practical

This is one of the best books I've listened to recently. Brendan is someone who walks the talk - a quick look at his social followers and you'll see that he indeed has over a million followers across both Facebook and Instagram, and he's managed to replicate the formula too. As someone who has been trying to grow my own social following for years (Instagram @deanblakeauthor), I've found Brendan's advice highly useful and practical; he pretty much spells out exactly what he did to gain the following and was honest that it takes hard work. For the beginner, this audiobook provides a lot of useful content to get going with the right foundations, and for the veteran who may be at a plateau - there are tidbits in here that could be useful too. This audiobook is read out by the author himself, which is a plus for me.

read well, relevant info, helpful to start a channel. It covers mostly facebook, but links to other social media accounts and so concepts relevant to youtube and insta as well.

So much fluff.

I know nothing about marketing, yet this audiobook taught me nothing more about it. It was just very basic, common sense type of stuff. I really felt like this was a waste of time and that this guy is just marketing his own company, if anything. He repeats his own website like every five minutes. And he talks a lot about celebrities and Hollywood, not what I was expecting. Skip this book.

Empty Platitudes

I had been hyped about this book by several friends and I was excited to listen and get all sorts of new knowlege about how to grow my professional following on social media. I was disappointed. I'm going to bash this book. Sorry, not sorry, it was not good, you should NOT buy this. I'm not an expert at social media, but I know a thing or two about how to implement the system described in this book. It's nothing novel, in fact this person has sold a book about absolutely nothing, I guess he's a genius for it. Key takeaways: How do you reach more people? Advertisements. Iterate your advertisements to see what works and what doesn't. Make engaging posts so more people will be attracted to share. Thanks Pal... There, Book Summary in 3 lines. I was hoping for some tidbit, some diamond, some ray of sunshine to beam through. For hours I waited, listened. It never popped its head up. It seems I'm already doing everything this book mentions mechanically. Next, lets talk ego. You won't find a lack of this in the book. The intent of this book is to sell additional services through Brendan's no doubt click-funnels account. I haven't even looked, but I'm sure that's what it is. The guy wants SOO badly to position himself as a thought leader and an expert but he forgot the thought, leadership, and expertise part. Let's name drop some more. I'm done, don't buy this book it's garbage. Thanks!

A Book That *ALMOST* Says Something Useful

Book starts out good with a lot of 'we'll talk more about that later' but the book never actually defines any strategies or useful information. Instead it's one bullshit inspirational quote after the next about following your passion and making your dreams come true. If you love wasting your time- this book is for you! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Pretty Basic Stuff

Summary: Advertise on facebook and make good content regularly. I think there is some good motivation here, and if youve never run facebook ads there are good tips...but nothing surprising or new here.

Poor concept sprinkled with celeb endorsements

I could get one mill too with celebs pushing my product. Super poor concept. If I got Taylor Swift to talk to me of course I would get one mill followers!

Great Book!

I love the content but the performance was too monotonous and wooden, so my attention goes elsewhere. I listen to books for 8 hrs a day, but this one was a little hard to sit through despite the awesome content. Consider adding audio cues!

Dear Author, Do this. Do NOT do that (again)

Helpful, relevant content about building real social interactions and gaining loyal followers. The information is relevant as of the time of publication. What distracted from the content was the narration and editing of his reading. The reader/author's voice dropped (significantly) so many times during the recording as to be beyond count. Whether this was an author only issue or the author and editing defect it became so noticeable and so frequent as to detract from what was helpful information. Overall, I would have rated it close to 5 starts based on content. However, the frequent pitch change at what I assume to be each of the recordings edits was so very distracting it became an impediment to focusing on -what should be the focus-the content of the recording.

Title should end with lots of paid advertising

Book covered nothing new... it was more about how Brendan achieve this with paid advertising, didn’t finish the book, waste of a credit. Plenty of better books out there.

Follow your dreams, kids!

What meagre tidbits of actual usable advice there are in this book can only be found by sifting through a thin gruel of turgid celebrity name dropping and generic platitudes. Despite promising in the introduction not to descend into such vague mawkishness, by the end we are being to told to “follow your dreams”, “be authentic”, and - and this is genuinely presented without a hint of irony - to “shoot for the moon, maybe you’ll land among the stars”. Unless you have a large budget set aside for paid ads, there isn’t much here to actually help a small brand/aspiring influencer increase their following. However, given the difficulty of said task, I could have forgiven that, had the tone of the book not been so condescendingly hackneyed. Avoid.

Very little usable strategy

If someone manages to achieve 1 million followers from reading this, I'd love to hear film them. Whilst there are some useful overviews of platforms there's really very little most of us can copy or learn in terms of strategy and it seemed like celebrity endorsements were key. Getting past my initial dislike of frequently mentioned Prince EA and Jay Shetty, two influencers who I've always thought to be moralizing and preachy rather than insightful and profound, I still hoped I might learn something. I find very little that I could practically apply in growing social following other than the obvious. The recommendation to create like pods was probably the point for me when I checked out. There must be better books on this subject? This one is getting exchanged.

A book that has clearly defined actionable tactics

I was unsure whether this book could live up to the premise on the front cover at first glance and it was only after listening to a podcast with the author i knew that this wasn't some outlandish claim and in fact was the roadmap to success on multiple social media platforms. The author has worked with the likes of MTV, Taylor Swift and other high profile companies, celebrities and organisations spending years honing his craft all of which he gives you in this book and outlines exactly how you need to approach social media and creating viral content FOR YOUR AUDIENCE to delight, educate and enrich their lives. It has tactics on how to effectively use the Facebook ads platform with definitive principles, bid strategies and even down to the best way to schedule your ads to reach the maximum amount of people quickly. It discusses instagram, you tube, snapchat and linkedin and how to leverage the best results from each. The only criticism i have with this book is that i have so much insight and not enough time to apply all of it, would highly recommend to anyone and everyone in the Marketing sphere, personal brands, small businesses, actors, musicians anyone that wants to grow a authentic following of true fans on social media. Thanks Brendan you've given me hope and excitement about getting started!

Wow! Just wow!

If you want to understand the powers of social media and how to expand your own then you should have got this book .... yesterday! Brendan talks in great detail about how the world is changing and how we market ourselves on social media thanks to you. He gives great tips on what markets to go after with 100% and some that you don’t need to be! Absolutely blown away! I’m off to read it again

Don't believe the hype

It is reasonable to expect any book about marketing to make strong claims about its ability to assist a budding entrepreneur to grow their business. The author of this book, Brendan Kane is not shy when it comes to bragging about his credentials which include being a former "digital strategist" for Taylor Swift and an first blush the title of this book "One Million Followers - How I Built a Massive Social Following in 30 Days" appears too good to be true. So what is the secret? Well, according to Mr Kane it is important to have good content that is in context; funny animal videos always go down well apparently, and the rest of it seems to be centred around "return on investment" i.e. pay to promote your messages so that they reach the largest audience. And that's about it in a nutshell. The book focuses on FaceBook with short passages on Instagram, SnapChat and LinkedIn (none of which are recommended) and nothing at all on Twitter. There are some inspirational quotes for those starting out such as "chase your dreams otherwise someone will hire you to chase theirs" and several recommendations to visit Mr Kane's website for further information which, unsurprisingly has many endorsements by prominent YouTubers and influencers, I would prefer to take the advice of Public Enemy and Don't Believe the Hype around this book. But then again, maybe Brendan Kane really is a genius; after all he persuaded me to part with my hard earn coin to download this book.

Inspiring

This book is an absolute plethora of information. I'm just starting out in e-commerce, and have found information in here that I would never have found anywhere else - so much so that I've listened to the first six chapters at least three times so far. Brendan puts the information across in a way that's totally understandable and keeps you interested from start to finish. Thank you, Brendan
