"Джон Стюарт Милль (1806 — 1873) — британский философ, социолог, экономист и политический деятель. Внёс значительный вклад в обществознание, политологию и политическую экономию. Отстаивал концепцию индивидуальной свободы в противоположность неограниченному государственному контролю. Последовательно выступал за женскую эмансипацию, в особенности в книге "О подчинении женщины". Стал первым парламентарием, поднявшим вопрос о женском избирательном праве.
