Publisher's Summary

At six years old, Myla was sent to a family her father and mother had chosen for her when they knew their time on Earth was almost up. They were unaware that what they thought would be her safe haven would become her living hell.

Kai has been watching Myla from afar since he took over the family business from his father and inherited the responsibility of keeping her safe. When word gets back to Kai that not only is Myla in danger but his assets are also being compromised, he immediately jumps into action and does the only thing that can be done at the time: He marries her.

Neither Myla nor Kai would have thought that something that started off as a farce would become the most important thing either of them could have ever done.

Loved Kai and Myla!

I always find great enjoyment reading a book by Aurora Rose Reynolds, and I know it may not always work for everyone with the instalove factor, alpha heroes and some cheesy eye roll moments but that's precisely what I love about her books because she does it SO well!! I loved that Kai and Myla had a childhood connection, and like a dark angel, he has been watching over her. I loved how OTT protective Kai was with Myla yet so brutal to his enemies.

I listened to the audiobook and loved Lidia Dornet and Sebastian York together!

4.5 Obligation Stars

I reallllly liked this book vs the first book. The characters were more mature and acted as adults and not teenagers. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind a good YA novel or even New Adult but when you have 25 and up you want them to be a little more mature...

So yes this book was what I had hoped the first one would have been like. I am all swoony over Kai, I am telling you who wouldn’t what a man that’s sole reason is to protect you and not only that but makes you feel like you are the most and only beautiful thing to ever grace his presence.

I loved the connection between Myla and Kai it wasn’t instant but you could tell they were drawn to each other.

I will say I did find the story to be a little choppy. Whether that was deliberate or if the writer just wants the story to move along so that it wasn’t too long or what, I wasn’t a fan of that. I would rather have a longer book with more details then to feel like you’re missing chunks of the story.

Loved the narration two of my favorite narrators right here, they do a great job. Again … Kai... Man what a fantastic character.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I Want to Hear His Side of the Story

This is book 2 of 3, although it’s a stand-alone story, I was excited to see that Sebastian York would also be co-narrating it (he IS listed in the description after all). I’m 8 chapters in and no male narration yet! Myla does all of the talking, but I still don’t have as much of a sense of Kai’s voice. With his stature and powerful presence, not having his voice is a bummer. The story dragged a bit in the beginning; male narration would help. If his narration occurs, I’ll submit a new review...it I can stay until the end.

Bad

Wow, this is one of the worst books that I have come across. Narration isn't too bad but the story is awful. No way would I recommend this book and I'm so confused by all of the positive ratings!

Good story

I have to admit that I found the story a bit confusing in the beginning, but gradually I came to figure out the plot. Maybe s little better backstory on how the two main characters knew each other? Overall a decent audiobook.

Least Favorite of the 3

Great Narration. However, this was another that was hard for me to follow and made me wish I'd read previous series first. I never really understood what happened to Myla's parents or why or why Myla didn't give up her adoptive brother. Or even why Kai was there when Myla was needing saved. Kai was WAY too secretive for my liking. I'm not a fan of the alpha males that leave their women constantly guessing. This was probably my least favorite of the 3 books.

If you love Alphas...

Would you listen to Obligation again? Why?

I will definitely listen again whenever I need to get my alpha fix. Not only that but it is a great story about love and doing everything in your power to protect those you love.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked not only the relationship between the hero and the heroine, but also how they interacted with the supporting characters.

Have you listened to any of Lidia Dornet and Sebastian York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I have listened and enjoyed narration by both narrators. I liked the voice that Lidia gave our hero, it really fit in with his character. While Sebastian is one of my favorites and he has a great voice I don't think he was the right fit for the male lead.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The boat incident, can't elaborate anymore since I do not want to spoil it for others.
