Nowadays every single book is ripping off the dungeons and dragons franchise, this author stuns the audience by actually thinking for once and generates his own unique fun world with just that right side dish of darkness creeping up.
Not sure about the actor but give the book a shot and find out for yourself if you like it.

Good characters, the narrator is quite good. I like the fact that the author didn't try and build a epic plot and just worked on writing a good book, instead of trying to make it a good book by weaving a stupidly complicated plot like most authors do now. Better a book well written than a bad book poorly written aiming for more
