Ten-year-old Annemarie Johansen and her best friend Ellen Rosen often think of life before the war. It's now 1943, and their life in Copenhagen is filled with school, food shortages, and the Nazi soldiers marching through town. When the Jews of Denmark are "relocated", Ellen moves in with the Johansens and pretends to be one of the family. Soon Annemarie is asked to go on a dangerous mission to save Ellen's life.

The novel number the stars is so powerful and deep, it makes you feel their emotions and gives an insight to their life, so much history and so many unanswered questions, i love how the author used real life pieces of someone’s story and combined it with some fiction, not lying at all but helping us understand truly a beautiful book!

IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK

I expected it to have more of a storyline and go in more depth, but that could have been because of my age.
OHHHHHH the narrating its like they had a permanent cough or something.

THE NARRATING IS TERRRIBLE
