I enjoyed this story a lot more than I was anticipating. The setting of a Roman mystery in Britannia was so very interesting. The details regarding the different political and religious concerns differed to what I expected I found very entertaining. I wish there were more audible books in this series.

I chose this book because I like Ray Porter's narration and usually enjoy stories of ancient Rome, but could not continue listening - I found the story boring and tedious.
Ray Porter's narration was excellent as usual, pity the content was not of the same standard.

This was a pleasant surprise. I chose the book because of the narrator Ray Porter and he did his usual masterful turn but the story didn’t disappoint. I would love to read more of this ancient Roman Doctor’s sleuthing skills and to see his family and friends further fleshed out. Great find and good banter between the characters.
