About this listen

From the author of the New York Times bestseller Better Than the Movies comes a romantic, heartfelt sequel that will sweep you off of your feet!

Wes had his dream girl but then he lost her – and the only way to get her back is to scheme like a rom-com hero…

For a few beautiful months, Wes and girl-next-door Liz were together. But right as the two were about to set off to UCLA together, tragedy struck and their relationship ended.

Flash forward and Wes and Liz find themselves in college, together. In a healthier place now, Wes knows he broke Liz’s heart, but is determined to make her fall back in love with him. And he has a foolproof plan to win her back with the rom-com worthy big gestures she loves. Only … Liz will have none of it. Wes has to scheme like a rom-com hero to figure out how to see her. Even worse, Liz has a new friend…a guy friend.

Still, Wes won’t give up and is determined to win back Liz’s affection. But after his best efforts get him nowhere, he’s is left wondering if their relationship is really over for good.

Nothing Like the Movies is perfect for hopeless romantics, lovers of grumpy x sunshine energy and for fans of Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood!

This book has me on my toes. The casting is impeccable and very well executed. The story even better. especially since it's the second book. Usually the second one is worse but in this case this book has ultimately become one of my top favorites in my life. If you're interested in a good romcom where the guy falls harder this is the book for you. And since its in Wes and Liz's perspective we're seeing both sides.

Perfection

I love the addition of Wes’s POV with this sequel, especially as it enriches what has happened between them. This is not as fluffy as the first book since they’re older and have gone through some things, which is so understandable. Wes’s emotions made my heart ache and Painter does such a fantastic job of well… painting the scene. Wes and Liz are everything - definitely one of the best couples I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. Jesse is also great - there’s so much emotion in her voice, and Charlie Bushnell needs to narrate more audiobooks! Love love love!

Excellent Follow-Up

Very entertaining story! I fell in love with Wes too but found Liz a bit whiney by the end. I also thought he was a much stronger character than her. I wasn't quite sure why he was so desperately in love with her but I know why she loved him! Very entertaining story. You'll love it

I loved Wes

I don't even know what to say. Very boring book, nothing like the first book.
I didn't like the female narrator as well and I had to skip a lot as it was very slow. 2 and 1/2 starts for me.

This book is an absolutely amazing sequel to Better than the movies. I also really enjoy how Charlie and Bailey from Betting on you show up as well.

WesLiz forever!
