Under udflugten forsvinder en fjorten år gammel dreng på mystisk vis. 75 år senere henvender drengens bror sig til journalisten Hannis Martinsson for at bede om hjælp til at finde ud af, hvad der egentlig skete dengang. Selvom Hannis Martinsson ikke har megen tiltro til, at det skal lykkes ham at finde frem til noget nyt så mange år senere, påtager han sig alligevel sagen.
