Story
Published first in 1912, Psychology of the Unconscious was one of the most important stepping stones in the development of Jung’s thought and practice. It has a long subtitle: A Study of the Transformations and Symbolisms of the Libido. A Contribution to the History of the Evolution of Thought. This expressed the underlying impetus - a break from the view of the libido and its functions as taught by Sigmund Freud, which Jung had earlier adopted. It was from this point that the two approaches, which came to be known as the Swiss and Viennese schools, emerged.

Yet, no matter the spiritual path we choose, we inevitably encounter our own shadow, those unconscious aspects of ourselves that we suppress or deny, or the shadows of our teachers and their secret desires about money, sex, and power. Meeting the shadow can derail the journey, but, according to Connie Zweig, Ph.D., we can learn to recover from loss of faith and move from spiritual naivete to spiritual maturity.

Great content, poor performance
Stein does a great job of synthesizing Jung's main ideas and theories. Narrator did not engage me with the content, reading too fast with no enthusiasm.

Great book, narration rushed.
This book is a great introduction to Jung. It helped me grasp a lot of Jung’s ideas which I had only understood in name only. I think I am now better equipped at studying Jung academic essay after reading this book. The audiobook reader, although their voice and melody is not bad, he reads too fast. After about 5 hrs I got use to it, but still, too rushed for my liking.

Why the hurry??
Fantastic insights into Jung's theories, however the narrator was in such a rush to get through the material that it was uncomfortable to listen to! Please take a breath and enjoy the material that you present.

Hopeless narrator 😩 is a barrier to a brilliant book
The narrator sound like a grade 3 reader with no subtlety or feeling for the text.
What a shame as the text itself is such a rich and insightful distillation of Jung.
