What's the point?
I like surreal, beat literature, I have a huge soft spot for the counter culture of the 60's. But this story shaped up to be more absurd than surreal. If there's a point to it all, it wasn't where I could see it. If you can put up with that, you got yourself an interesting time.
Eccentric Tour de Force
Although this work is a little like being in the mind of an autistic, it is a stimulating experience ( for the audacious only!) It is compelling, as it lends itself to a mental screenplay in spite of or perhaps because of its provocative, disjointed presentation. The narrator ought be applauded for a flawless rendering. I know that I will find myself in a minority with such a positive review; those who want a straightforward tale should steer away from the outrageous octopus. The curious should prepare to be stimulated or turned off--one extreme or the other!
