All of his efforts to forget her had failed, and he had accepted that some part of her would always be with him

In the winter of 1812, a fatal accident on a stormy night plunges the Bennet family into mourning and scandal. Shunned and isolated from nearly everyone they have ever known and loved each of the Bennet sisters hurries to marry, to provide themselves the respectability of married women. Miss Elizabeth Bennet settles into marriage of prudence with a man she respects but could never completely love.

Fitzwilliam Darcy left Hertfordshire determined to put Elizabeth Bennet and her fine eyes behind him. Disgusted by society and plagued by memories he would just as soon forget, he tries to seclude himself at Pemberley. Alas, the treachery and extortion of someone he once trusted leads him to settle into a marriage both he and his bride despise.

Shortly after he becomes a widower, a chance discovery on a beach in Devon brings Elizabeth Bennet back to Darcy’s mind. Not knowing anything of what has befallen her in the years since that fateful autumn in Hertfordshire he sets out to find her and, if possible, court her.

Will the tumult both have endured in the years since last they met be put aside? Will their long-awaited second chance at love finally lead to happily ever after?

I absolutely love this book . I have not heard this narrator before but really enjoyed his reading. The story is sweeping and so good.

Brilliant

One of the best variations I have read with lots of really interesting plot lines and outcomes. Great narration too!

Fantastic storyline

This variation used the original story but breathd fresh life into each character bringing forth abilities of each to sensibly change their attitudes.

Refreshing version.

A story of second chances that had a 'Persuasion' feel to it. A besotted Darcy, an Elizabeth that lands on her feet despite the trials she faces and a new foe to face. I enjoyed the minor parts that Wickham and Caroline played as it paved the way for some refreshing plot variation. It seemed like more than half the book was read before Elizabeth and Darcy met again but that part of the book is essential in letting us learn and reflect on what they both go through in the intervening years between meetings. I was hesitant to listen to this book when i read that they both marry others first but I'm glad i overcame that because the marriages are so unconventional. Definitely recommend.

absolutely divine

I have read a number of Pride and Predjudice adaptations, this has to be one of my favourites. The narrator was easy to listen to and the story flowed so well I did not want to stop listening.
I enjoyed hearing from multiple characters, Darcy and Elizabeth are still the main characters, but it was nice to see some of the side characters as well.
I also enjoyed the development of each sister and how their stories entwined slowly with the Darcy's.
Excellent read/listen.

Amazing Adaptation
