Han har skrevet bøger til både børn, unge og voksne, filmmanuskripter, dramaer og tegneserier, og han har fået tildelt indtil flere priser og legater for sit arbejde - blandt andet Kulturministeriets Børnebogspris, Statens Kunstfonds arbejdslegat, Børnebibliotekarernes Kulturpris og Gyldendals Børnebogspris.
