About this listen

Welcome to the first Haunted Guest House mystery - the getaway every reader can afford.

Newly divorced Alison Kerby wants a second chance for herself and her nine-year-old daughter. She's returned to her hometown on the Jersey Shore to transform a Victorian fixer-upper into a charming-and profitable guest house. One small problem: the house is haunted, and the two ghosts insist Alison must find out who killed them.

Editorial reviews

Amanda Ronconi narrates this humorous mystery with the vocal equivalent of an eye roll. While she doesn’t sound bored, she certainly sounds annoyed. But imagine her character’s predicament: She’s purchased an old crumbling Victorian on the Jersey shore, she’s fixing it up into a guesthouse, her precocious nine-year-old is hectoring, and now she finds out the Victorian is haunted!

Admittedly contrived, over-the-top, and including references that will be dated unto obscurity within the next decade or sooner, Night of the Living Deed seeks to achieve only one thing: Your temporary laughter and merriment at - or with - Ronconi’s eye-rolling voice.

I couldn't believe I found this book, and to find it was free, was even better, because it kept me laughing. The story and characters, including the ghosts, was wonderfully written. I could not stop listening. Highly recommend

What a brilliantly, well written story. I loved the characters. I felt like I bonded with them. The haunted house was excellent. It was scary, but not too scary. It was fun. I look forward to the next book in the series. May I say congratulations to the author, what what a treat for me.

Amanda Ronconi the narrator read the story beautifully. And the “Ghosts” played their part well, with some mischievous goings on.

Fun

Quite entertaining but would benefit from a good edit, it went on too long, if shortened, a good story would become an even better story

First in series

Think Stephanie Plum with practical knowledge.
Alison the main character had a great dad who taught her useful skills and has a mom who encourages self belief.
So american in references and behaviour the characters come across as one dimensional, dismissive, gullible or childish.
Amanda Ronconi is a brilliant voice for all characters. :-)

Excellent narrator
