A Light-hearted little story

I enjoyed this book very much. A sweet story and easy listen. The narrator was easy to listen to. A cute love story with some twists.

Heartwarming

A cheerful and heartwarming listen.
I found the story of Sarah and her search for love, completely captivating. It won’t satisfy those who must only read/listen highbrow books, but anyone needing a story to lighten their mood, will love this.
I highly recommend it

Boring and Sickly Sweet

The narrator was ok but I skipped whole chapters trying to find a foothold in the story but it just dribbled on.
The last book I listened to by the same author was a 5 star effort so not sure what that implies.

Protagonist not believable

Disliked the needy, self-absorbed lead. Her spineless behaviour wore me out. Other books by this author are better but ahe tends to write about similar women.

Terrific romance and light listening

I love how this sequel follows first with mostly new characters but hints of familiarity. Great characters, I love the mystical elements.

if ladies minds really work this way sheesh!!!!

a great listen to. it draws you in an makes you want to throttle Sarah. it's no mistake if this is how a woman mind works that us men can never stand a chance...can't wait to listen to the next.

Very enjoyable audiobook

This was my first Jessica Redland audiobook and I can’t wait to listen to more by this author. The narration by Lucy Brownhill was excellent as well. The story moved very well and kept me entertained the entire time. The twist at the end was a fun surprise. It was nice to hear a story that wasn’t loaded with four letter words.

Another Roantic Winner! Loved it!!

There is just something about how this author weaves her tale that paints such an inclusive picture of the story unfolding. so much so that my minds eye sees the seaside town so clearly I can feel the mist & shiver against the winter wind along with each character!

Loved all the characters. altjough there were times I wanted to throttle Sarah I could mostly identify her side of things. Wonderful.how secrets are revealed and all a tiny bit spooky!

Narration was much better this book than book1. Amazed hpw seamlessly the narrator swung from an English accent to an Iridh one then back again.

5 STARS well deserved

Feel good reading

I am reading the series and really enjoyed this second book. It is chick lit so it's an easy read. The plot is mostly predictable but there were a few additions to keep interest up.
I am really enjoying the feelgood nature of the book; the roller coaster ride with a sprinkle of high and lows that concludes with a happy ending.
The narrator really brought the characters to life and made the story come to life.
I'm back to store now to buy the third book in the series. I usually have a break and have a different read between books but it must be good as I am ready and willing for the third book now.

Does not live up to book 1.

I didn't hate this book but I didnt love it either.
Book 1 of the series - the chocolate pot cafe was a fantastic little read, I had high hopes for this book and the rest of the series, After reading this one, I wont be bothering with the others. The first book was full of layers - this seemed very flat by comparison, almost like the writer had a multi book deal and had to bang out something else. It didnt have the twists and turns, it was flat. Add to that the fact that it didnt follow on from the previous book at all!

This book was set in the same street as the original book but in a different building. Apart from them going back to the cafe a few times (setting of the original book) and the odd name being mentioned in passing, there was no link at all. I knew this book was about a diffrent character but expected there to be more tie ins and I was disappointed not to get any insight into how the original characters were doing. A great let down after such a promising start

Disappointing storyline

I listened to the full story but I’m not sure why. The lead is such a whiny character who doesn’t seem to care for anyone but herself, moaning continually and she is even given a thriving shop and still manages to be depressed about it. There is a wierd side story about an uncle who died alone, she is scared of storms because of finding him and there are many many storms in this book each of which make her sink into an even more depressing state. I’ve lived in North Yorkshire and never experienced so many storms every few weeks! The narrator is good when she is the lead but the depressing voices she gives to the men in the story make it an overall really difficult book to enjoy. I was glad the book ended as I promised myself I’d listen to the end but definitely don’t recommend it as it leaves you with a flat feeling and I definitely won’t be reading the others in the series.

Easy Listening

Beautifully narrated, and easy to listen to.
I won't lie, as I found it a little long winded. Very slow in places, but as it was a free title, I didn't mind so much.

Annoying main character

This could have been a good story but unfortunately the main character was really annoying and it was frustrating to listen to how self centred she is. She is the sort of character that only good things happens to but she is still wants more. She splits with her boyfriend and needs to move out of their shared home and it just so happens that her aunt randomly decides to give her her successful business and her home (for free). On the first day running the business she meets the man of her dreams but she continues to look for another man in case this dream man was not ‘the one’ and dumps him when she finds one with a more appropriate name. When she thinks the dream man has moved on she suddenly decides she wants him after all. She seeks advice from her best friends and delights that they fight for her affection. Such a spoilt brat and a character I really didn’t care about.
