If you are struggling with narcolepsy, or know someone who suffers from it, it will be worth your time to discover some valuable information about the condition. Narcolepsy is a serious disorder that needs to be addressed and handled with care.

Would your life be better if you knew about it and could predict what would happen, based on the analysis of your brain? Would it help to know if there are herbal, vitamin, or other treatments? This book addresses such issues, as well as topics such as:

  • A brief history of narcolepsy and valuable lessons we can learn from it

Be smart, and learn all you can if it plays a role in your life in any shape or form.

Highly recommended

I got this book because I suffer from Narcolepsy. It has a ton of info in it but takes some time to read because it is very geared towards the medical community that understands a lot of the terminology in it. However I would suggest it to anyone that needs more insight and understanding of how narcolepsy affects us on a daily basis.

Poorly written, poorly narrated

While I can't seem to argue with the factual accuracy of this book, the writing and narration have led to me to consider whether the facts are accurate.

The book is repetitive to the point of being irritating. The same set of information is repeated at least 10 times. The reader is left to wonder if the author realizes he has said that, or is just copy and pasting for word count. The narrator is completely incapable of pronouncing every day common medications, and seemingly butchers the Ayurvedic ones mentioned.

I had to give two stars because I did actually learn some things.

Informative

I liked that it gave tips for foods to avoid and foods to eat. Poor narrator struggled, but it was more information than my sleep doctor provided. Thank you for writing this book, now it’s time for me to do the work!

Poorly written and read as though at gun-point

As a person with narcolepsy, I am always looking for more stories and information on this incurable chronic disability. I was hoping this might be a source. It failed to reveal any new information while simultaneously garbling information I already had.

I wonder if this wasn’t a hastily thrown together book, given the number of bewildering errors. Or perhaps the reading copy given was just riddled with typos. Either way, it was difficult to listen to and even harder to extract clear information from:

At the very least, I’d hope the reader could have pronounced hypercretin correctly; it’s the neurotransmitter that lies at the heart of narcolepsy and he says the word hundreds of times.

I hope neither this author nor this reader publish any additional work. This book was a waste of my time. And, as a person with narcolepsy, my waking moments are precious. I strongly resent whoever was behind this.

Misinformation and Poor Performance

This audio book contains too much misinformation to be helpful. The performance was given by someone with reading difficulty who mispronounced nany words. It was a struggle to keep listening.

Excellent

I think this book is perfect. Yes, the narrator made a few mistakes, but I was pleasantly surprised by the information and the clarity of his voice.

Narrator pronounces many words incorrectly.

There was no thought or insight put into writing this, it is nothing but a regurgitation of facts and I can't be bothered to finish it.

Good introduction

Good introduction and history and symptoms of narcolepsy however the remaining structure and content could be improved with references provided to support evidence of herbal remedies in narcolepsy

You can't not like this

I mean, I have an uncle with narcolepsy and he agrees with so many of these facts. It's to the point and straight forward truth.

Repetitious and contradictory

Strange book. The author starts with the correct understanding regarding the subject, it's symptoms and complications. Stating of no cure, the at the end, offers cure via herbal remedies. Not really much assistance to the sufferer of Narcolepsy.
