Publisher's Summary

Diana of Drummond is frantic. Tired of waiting for her to choose a husband, her ailing father has selected one for her. Unfortunately, the man he's chosen could not be further from her childhood fantasy of the perfect knight. From the instant she meets him, she knows that her betrothed would make a frightful partner. Luckily for her, the handsome, intrepid Micheil Ramsay is part of the group that escorts her to her betrothed's home. He spirits her away and promises to save her from the ruinous marriage by helping her find the knight of her dreams.

Too infatuated with all women to select just one, Micheil Ramsay is determined never to settle down. But when he rescues Diana of Drummond and brings her to Edinburgh to snare a husband, he finds himself swayed by her beauty, her bossiness, and her bravery. Now he finds himself in the position of trying to help the object of his affection woo another man.

As they embark on a rapid-fire quest to save Diana from her disastrous situation, Diana and Micheil find themselves battling their own hearts. Will they manage to overcome their preconceived notions and recognize the love that's right in front of them?

My Desperate Highlander

I Liked the story very much the only thing that bugged me was the whiney voice for all the females. The male voices were fine though.

Could not stand Diana's stupidity

While the other books in this series were pretty good, this one was so irritating, I couldn't finish it. Diana is just too stupid/gullible about almost everything in life, I wanted to smack some sense into her. Really, she just let any man who happened to pay her attention feel her up because he ‘might’ be her knight? And where was her chaperone? No lady went around without a chaperone for this exact reason back in the day. And her father just decided to marry her off to the worst human in the world after allowing her years to find a suitable husband of her own choosing. He couldn’t find a decent guy for her that was not suspected of killing his previous wives? Very ridiculous and unbelievable. And the whole plot ‘twist’ with the king’s niece. Won’t even rant on that one. One of the worst books I have listened to in a long time.

Irritating!

I have loved this series...until this book. The heroine, Diana, is so stupid! It goes far beyond naivety. She puts herself in the same dangerous situations, over and over. Her idiocy is so annoying, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to finish this one. Thankfully, I got it through Audible Escape and didn’t spend a credit on it! Definitely NOT worth a credit!

How did he fall in love with her?

I try not to give bad reviews, but really, Diane is a spoiled brat brainless ninny. I admit that this has not been my favorite series. There are too many places where I just have to eye roll. Men are constantly referred to as “Lads” or worse “Laddies “ and women as “Lasses”. At least in the previous books the women act mostly like grown ups even if they do stupid things. In this one she acts more like she’s 12. And honestly, the author makes them contradict themselves all the time. One minute they say or think one thing, the next it’s the complete opposite. I think I’m done. This was the worst one yet, I just can’t go on. Sometimes a series will start with that kind of stuff but improve as the author continues the series, but this one is not getting any better.

Medieval Melodrama

Sword fights, kidnappings, tantrums, and tyrants: this novel has all the ups and downs to keep a reader hooked. As with most romances half the fun is yelling from the sidelines things like "Get a clue!" And "you idiot, you love her!" Imagery and characters are developed beyond the superficial; I just wish the peril felt more dire. I was too certain he would save her every time. I liked that the plot had many twists and turn and that it didn't just end when the initial conflict was solved. It felt more like a full slice of life, albeit a rather improbable one. The only annoyance for me was the "innocence" of the protagonist; sometimes it just felt like pathetic airheadedness. Thankfully Diana was endearing in other ways.

A horrible book

Usually a very good writer, this book is complete trash. The main character is a total air head. Possibly the worst book EVER! Yuk!!

Very weak, the lead female is rediculous

What happened Keira? The lead female in this book is very weak and ignorant. The paragraph below has spoilers.. Her character is described as educated and trained in traditionally male skills by her father, so you'd expect a strong lass, but yet she's completely naive. She does things like allow a knight she just met to pull her into a bush and kiss her. Soon after she confirms he's of poor character by witnessing him cheat in a tournament; yet she blindly follows an errand boy that takes her into the loser's chamber (by herself) and then just stands there and tries to talk to him while he starts to pull her dress off her shoulders and disrobes. Even with that going on doesn't realize that she's in trouble until he's trying to rape her. Apparently because she's a virgin she is unaware when she is being disrespected and threatened. The writing truly makes NO sense. Books 1-5 were not masterpieces, but they were entertaining. Not this one, I had to delete it 1/2 way through and find something else.

Diana is the WORST

I can't believe I was able to finish this book. It took so much effort. Diana was so awful, naive, whiny, brainless, and irrational. There was really nothing redeemable about her, even right to the end. She thinks to herself how much she's matured even while still being completely immature. She acts like a 13 year old child bride, rather than her actual age. Yes, I understand she was sheltered, but good grief, I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes at and called a character a dumbass more than I did with this book. How could Michael actually fall in love with her?? It's not even believable that there's enough patience in one human body. He'd have to be a saint, and he wasn't. It's completely implausible. Right up until the end she was acting the spoiled brat she claimed she wasn't. Why did everyone keep telling Michael they made a good couple? He should have been offended at that. I wish I could get my time back. Thankfully I didn't waste a credit on this book since it's included with Audible Escape.

Highlander

The Highlanders in the first two books are very different well not very very different but they’re not as described as you usually read in a Highlander book and the girl was portrayed as whiny other than that it was a good story and the narrator was pretty good also I would give it maybe a 3 1/2

Clan Grant Book 6

I really enjoy all the books in this series however this story is my least favorite. The story line is just silly. I could not feel much compassion for Diana. For a girl who is supposed to be strong and intelligent she sure makes some very stupid decisions.
