Publisher's Summary

A small-town fake-relationship romantic comedy.

Josh Landry is one of the hottest bartenders in New Orleans. He’s shown many a female tourist that things are definitely big and easy down here. And he’s now been celibate for a year. Because he finally met her.

Yes, her. The One.

But after nothing more than a hot good-night kiss and a promise to meet up again next year if they’re both still interested, she went home to Iowa.

It’s been a long year.

But now it's Mardi Gras again, and he's ready for his happily ever after. If she shows up. Oh, she shows up. For her best friend’s wedding. But Tori is a terrible bridesmaid because all she can think about is her knight-in-shining-Mardi-Gras-beads from last year. Well, and because she accidentally lays a hot kiss on her BFF. A.k.a. the groom.

Unfortunately, no one believes that it was a case of mistaken identity. So now she has to convince everyone she has no intention of ruining the wedding. She's going to need a crazy-about-her boyfriend ASAP. Even if he’s just faking it.

Well there's only one other person she knows in Louisiana...Josh is all in. In fact, he's thrilled. And he's not faking anything. But the groom isn't faking his sudden case of cold feet either.

And now Tori might have a choice to make.

Very Entertaining and Inventive!

This is over the top fun down in Nawlins. I loved listening to this story. The characters are fun, entertaining and inventive. The narrator had me rooting for Tori and Josh. I enjoyed their get to know you time frames and that Josh seemed all in. He knew of course due to his crazy family legacy. I had a good time meeting all of his family...well except his mom. Tori didn’t know her mind as quick as Josh. Since she is is a vet I believe all her dedication to saving animals. She has quite the menagerie. But I would love her to be my vet. I did listen to this on audio. Amanda Stribling and Neill Thorne are the narrators. They both do a wonderful job. I want to give a shout out to neill and his accent. Nice!

Josh and Tori are adorable in this instalove story

Josh and Tori met a year ago and fell in love. Absolutely, irrevocably in love, which is par for the course for Josh's family. But Tori didn't want to commit to long distance, so Josh made a deal and told her that if they both return to the place they met in one year, then they'll know that it's meant to be. So here we are, one year later, and Josh is even more convinced that they are meant to be each other's forever, and Tori is warming up to the idea, but she's in town for her best friend Andrew's wedding, and that presents a whole host of complications that neither of them saw coming. Erin Nicholas has provided a smart, entertaining, hilarious look into live in the Bayou, falling in love, meddlesome families and bridezillas in this romance. Tori and Josh are easily the most sane people in the bunch, and they the Landry family is such a supportive, love-positive family that helps him put his heart on the line. Amanda Stribling and Neill Thorne do a great job bringing not only Tori and Josh to live, but all of the various and sundry characters as well. From an erstwhile groom and his controlling bride, to a Bayou grandma insistent on meddling, to a flirtatious bartender. All in all, an A+ narration of an A+ rom-com.

Swoonworthy bayou accent, sweet rom com!

This book is so fun. Tori and Josh share a night of hot kisses and agree that they will meet up in a year if they are still interested. Tori is a quirky, veterinarian that has always struggled to fit in, and Josh is a smooth talking, flirty bartender/tour guide. With a family history of falling in love with "the one" instantly, Josh knows Tori is the one and waits out his year. (The backstory is 1 chapter, it's not back and forth which I appreciated!!!). Tori returns to NOLA for her best friend's (Andrew) wedding and to meet up with Josh. She thinks she recognizes Josh in a mask at the bar they agreed to meet at in one year and kisses him - instantly realizing he's not Josh. Of course the bride-to-be witnesses the kiss, and Tori is viewed by everyone as trying to steal the groom. In order to alleviate suspicion, she proposes to Josh that he act as her boyfriend for the wedding and they can reconnect and see how it goes. What this book did right - I am not a fan of love triangles or other woman/man drama. Ugh! However, this book did it right!!! Tori is upfront with Josh and her feelings are always clear. I really appreciated that from the beginning, Josh knew exactly where she stood. I really loved getting to know Josh's family, and I can't wait for the brother's story. This is definitely a "found family" story, and Josh appreciates all of Tori's quirks that she's always needed to hide before. The book has the perfect mixture of romance, grand gestures, comic relief, and steam. I have no complaints except book 2 isn't out yet!!!!! Ugh! The wait. The end does set up for the brothers book. We get resolution for our sweet couple and a nice set up for the next romance with the brother. I really can't wait to read all the family members books, they are fun group of people for sure. Narrators - perfect. The male narrator had the best bayou accent. Swoonworthy. That accent paired with Josh's confident charm were just yummy. The female narrator was excellent as well. This was my first time for both of these narrators, and I was so happy with them. Fun and Flirty Book with a Cute HEA

This was my first book by the author and was excited to dive in as the premise seemed fun and flirty and stories set in New Orleans always seem to have an aweosme vibe. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen after Josh and Tori took a chance on meeting up a year later if the feelings were still there. I loved Josh's character from the start. He didn't really pull any punches and just pretty much laid everything out there. I also really loved his family. I overall really enjoyed Tori's character and think she had a great heart and loved her love of animals, though I did struggle at times with her friendship with Andrew as it seemed like he wasn't a great friend at times. There were some funny parts to the story and overall the book was fun and flirty and low angst. I loved that Tori and Josh were able to get their HEA and I would definitely check out other books by this author in the future. This was my first listen by Amanda Stribling and Neill Thorne and overall I thought they both did a pretty good job. I would definitely be interested in checking out more of their work in the future. #THEFLOCK #PINKFLAMINGOPRODUCTIONS

The perfect mood-lifter in a stressful world

I absolutely loved this fun rom-com set in the Big Easy. This is the first book by Erin Nicholas that experienced, and it certainly won’t be the last. I am very impressed with the excellent characters, the hilariously awkward situations, and the slow burn steaminess. Now I am hooked on this “Boys of the Bayou” series, especially with the expert narration provided by Neill Thorne and Amanda Stribling. They both nailed the Louisiana and Iowa accents, and they were equally adept at voicing the colorful cast of characters. Neill Thorne's voice is so sexy! His Cajun drawl for the hero Josh was pure pleasure for my ears. I highly recommend this to all rom-com fans and for everyone who wants a pleasant vacation from reality. I adored the characters and the story. I really related to the veterinarian heroine Tory from Iowa. She loves animals but is not so comfortable around people. She lacks a little self-confidence at first, but she blossoms with the help of Josh. Josh Landry comes from a loving and boisterous family in the bayou near New Orleans. Josh meets Tory and falls hard for her. When they meet again in New Orleans one year after their brief initial meeting, Josh courts her so romantically. This romance is doubly great because of all the wonderful conversations they have getting to know each other. Josh really understands Tory and appreciates her exactly how she really is. The slow burn romance eventually has some quite steamy scenes. Ooh-la-la! I want to warn readers that another man tries to make moves on Tory, but because Tory wants nothing to do with him, it is thankfully not a love triangle. The book is very low angst with lots of humorous moments. This audiobook really lifted my spirits. Best Story Ever

I received this audiobook free for an honest review as an Audiobook Obsession Reviewer and from Pink Flamingo Productions. This was an awesome book. This was the cutest romance. Loved the characters, Josh and Tory. But also Tory's best friend and his stuffy, snobby fiance. Great combination of characters. I felt like I was in New Orleans. Great setting for such a great story. Can't wait for the next in series. This author is being added to my favorite author list. Gonna look for more of her books. The narrators were perfect for this story. They brought this story to life.

My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding

I just love the way these two started. Feeling the amazing chemistry and still leaving it to chance that they will still feel the same in a year. These two are from totally different backgrounds but they still compliment each other perfectly. I loved everything about this book and with the peak of what’s to come, I can’t wait for the next book!

Romantic Comedy

My Best Friend's Mardi Gras Wedding by Erin Nicholas is a small town fake relationship romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Amanda Stribling and Neil Thorne. This is the first book of Erin’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I absolutely loved the relationship between Josh and Tori. I am pretty sure I had a smile on my face the whole time I was listening to this book. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Sweet Home Louisiana to be released on audio so I can get Madison and Owen’s story. Amanda and Neill did a great job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future. I would highly recommend this book if you love fake relationships, small town relationships, or romantic comedies.

Funny, Sweet Story

First of all I want to appreciate the amazing narration of Amanda Stribling and Neil Thorne, they both were amazing in this book, voicing the characters really great The story was so good, and I enjoyed every single part of the book, I laughed and swoon with everything they went through. The way they describe you everything made me want to be in New Orleans wishing I could travel and admire every single place they went, and have some beignets at Cafe Dumond. 🎧PFP reviewer 🎧

Boys of the Bayou: Josh

Tori meets Josh at Mardi Gras. A girl from Iowa with a hot New Orleans bartender, set a date to meet again. They have chemistry and great connection. The year date comes in with her best friend’s wedding. Tori kisses the wrong guy, loses privileges, brings in fake boyfriend and stands out as a sore thumb at this wedding extravaganza. It’s funny and sweet, the way Josh follows through and goes above and beyond any bf. They are totally made for each other. I loved listening to the story and the narrators did a great job telling it. My Thoughts on My Best Friend's Mardi Gras Wedding

This may have been a first book by this author for me, but I think I may already be hooked. It was such a fun, steamy small town Rom-Com. I was so happy to get the chance to listen to it brought to life by two excellent narrators. They did a great job with the accents and overall made the story really enjoyable to listen to. I know I want more of this big, crazy, but loving family. I want to see them all find their intense all consuming love and if it's even half as good as this one I'll be thrilled. 🎧AudiobookObsession Reviewer

So much fun!!

I loved the book and can now add the audio to that! Neill Thorne and Amanda Striking are fantastic story tellers, bringing Josh and Tory to scintillating life, bringing laughter, love and shenanigans to these grateful ears! With a bridezilla and clueless groom, Erin Nicholas has written a warm, funny story that deserves these stars. 💖💖💖💖💖

a great story of finding your Bayou boy. Tori and Josh have a great chemistry the first time they meet. But she is an Iowa girl and didn't want her heart broke if it didn't work long distance. they agree to meet in one year. she comes to find Josh while attending her best friends wedding. a misplaced kiss on her BFF leads to disaster. she looks to Josh help her out. Amanda Stribling is one of favorite narrators. she nails the characters. Neill Thorne is new to me. He has a great voice. He did nailed Josh. #flock #pfp 🎧audiobookobsession

Awesome trip the Bayou

Really loved this lol outrageously funny and quirky trip to the Bayou. Can’t wait for the next book in this series. Tori was wonderful just as she was and needed Josh in her life to show her just how unique and beautiful she was. There are cringe worthy moments in this book and uproarious lol ones too that include Josh’s crazy, and loving family and I hope we get to hear more about them. I’m really wanting to go to Mardi Gras or maybe just to the big east just to hear more of that southern accent and soak in the adventure it would provide. Narration was amazing and sounded authentic to the audiobook. Audiobook Obsession Reviewer 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
