Ive always enjoyed Karen's stories, and have eagerly awaited each new publication. However, unfortunately I found the latest rather over crafted, too many irons in the fire and therefore difficult to follow.
Unlike the previous light, geographically interesting, gripping and enjoyable stories, Murder at Ashton Steeple is, in my view, bogged down with too many characters and their roles.
My impulse for expectation of the next episode is somewhat dampened.

Might I use this platform to say that I feel it unfair that while UK and the US are often blessed with sale deals of these books AU is always excluded

Karen writes a fascinating plot with all the twists and turns, red herrings etc that make up a good murder mystery. I love her characterisations of the players. Lots of humour and the pets are adorable too. Sam’s narration is the cherry on top. He brings the story to an another level. Thoroughly enjoyed this edition and all other Heathcliff series.
