Publisher's Summary

Jessica Fletcher’s favorite gin-rummy partner, Mimi Van Dorn, checks into the brand-new Clifton Care Partners, a private hospital that’s just opened up shop in town, for a simple procedure - one that leads tragically, and inexplicably, to her death. Seeking justice in her inimitable fashion, Jessica decides to pursue her own investigation of the hospital and its shadowy business dealings. On the trail of what initially appears to be medical malpractice, Jessica digs deeper and learns her friend was actually a victim of something far more sinister. Death is bad for business, but murder is even worse, and Jessica will find plenty of both as she races to bring down Clifton Care Partners before someone else flat lines.

Narrator is godawful

This narrator, by far, had to be the worst one thus far. I just started and I will not continue listening. You should have stuck with Beth Porter. Ugh. Disappointing. I will try to read the Kindle version since I've already bought the book.

Excellent story

I enjoyed the story. I'm not sure if narrator was right for it. I loved the fact that lots of characters from the show were in the story

Bad performance

The narrator spoke so fast and had bad voices for the characters. Could finish at all. Sandra Burr is still the best

Disappointed

I was disappointed in this book. I don’t like the constant banter back-and-forth between Jessica and Harry McGraw and Mort Metzger.
It just didn’t seem natural.
When Donald wrote murder she wrote the banter was genuine went along with the story and blend it in more.
Also Jessica was very conformational and combative throughout the book.
Just not the smooth writing that Bain produces

Bad choice of narrator

I agree with the other reviewer, the person narrating does not capture Jessica at all...changes the whole feel of a Murder, She Wrote book. Her voices of other characters are indistinguishable most of the time. Why did you change? I still always enjoy these stories, but you really need the usual narrator back.

Not Jessica Fletcher

The reader sounded more uppity than a Down Easterner Maine Jessica Fletcher, and the characters were not distinct. The storyline was very disappointing with the Chief Inspector resurfacing after years, when the Fatal Feast ended with a promise of a Christmas visit that was left lingering. The most disappointing book to date..

Narrator over does it

I didn’t like the narrator at all. She should watch the original tv series before voicing. She made all the men sound so odd.

This book was terrible

This narrator, by far, had to be the worst one thus far. The characters are not British. I just started and I will not continue listening. You should have stuck with Beth Porter. Ugh. Disappointing. Also, the writing is terrible and not true to character. I was terribly disappointed.

I don't know if I'm buying this...

Well, I did pay for it, so I should be buying this.
In this book, aside from having one hundred reminders Jessica never has a bill to pay from her NYC detective friend & Cabot Cove is being modernised and more new people keep on moving in (damn them!), she also ducks bullets and finds herself trail running in the forest, chasing a bad guy with a gun. Cabot Cove is really rough, I learn.
She should be in her 90's now? Maybe?
I'm not buying this.
