Publisher's Summary

Contemporary Romance

Aelissm Davis figured she would eventually return home to Northstar, Montana, but not like this - desperate for the tranquility of the secluded valley and plagued by memories of her dead boyfriend and the advances of an obsessive former friend. Just when she begins to relax, a call from her old friend makes it clear he wasn't deterred, and she calls her overprotective uncle for advice. Things become even more tangled when he sends Patrick O'Neil "on vacation" to keep an eye on her. Aelissm is pretty sure her uncle is playing matchmaker again, but despite her annoyance, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to Pat. He is a haunted man with a kind smile and sad eyes, and he may just be the best thing to ever happen to her…if she can convince him to stay.

Nope

What disappointed you about Mountain Angel?

The narrating and editing made this title impossible to listen to. The editing left no time in between one sentence and the next, literally less space than between two normally spoken words. In addition, the narrator was listless and boring.

Don't waste your money or credits on the audible version, but maybe read the ebook since it is sold for $0.00 on Amazon.

Performance ruined this book!

I couldn't even listen until the end. Why pick someone who is obviously older, (I'm 51 so I can say that), to portray someone young? She sounds as if she has NEVER had a passionate moment in her life.

Juvenile and predictable. Horrible narration.

First, I have listened to hundreds of audiobooks and this is the worst narration I have ever heard. Narrator sounded drunk as she slurred through words and never considered punctuation. Maybe the book would have been better if the listener could have understood the narration. So grateful to be done with it. Another freebie from Bookbub and I see why. Don't waste your money on this one.

Narration not easy to listen to...

Storyline was okay but the narration was not at all realistic. Might try another book by Susie O’Connell but will not if narrated by the same person .

Not great

Storyline rather boring, but mostly disliked the narration. Irritating voice that made it too difficult to listen too. Sorry.

Love Heals Broken Lives!

A man and a woman have separate violent tragedy wreck their lives. They are each withdrawn and stuck in the aftermath. When the woman is threatened her law enforcement uncle sends a young struggling detective friend to help protect his hurting endangered niece. The hero and heroine meet and develop a friendship that leads to more. All the while they give each other the courage to face their own demons. I think it is necessary to comment on narrator's lackluster performance. Her voice is low energy and flat. She just reads the story and does not vary her voice with different characters so she does not add to enjoyment of book.

Is it the narrator?

I'm struggling to listen to this story. I'm not sure if its the narrator's voice or the way she is reading. It just sounds off. It took me a while to get into the book. I found the story itself a good story but the narration really did put a damper on the story.

Victims No More

If you like wounded heroes on a path to healing, you'll enjoy this clean, but sensuous, romance. It isn't a Christian novel but Pat and Aelissm might inspire others to get out of the victim trap and heal. I think the narrator hurt this book. I'll give Suzie O'Connell another try but not with this Reader. She does have a nice voice quality but her timing and lack of different voices hurt the book. The hero often sounded more than slow witted.

Poor Performance

The story may have been enjoyable if not narrated so poorly. The narrator would do well with children's books, but was unable to hold your attention on this story. I suggest if you want to enjoy this book buy it and read it yourself.

Terrible performance

I can not give a good rating on the story because the narrator was so bad that I kept getting bored and distracted.
