About this listen
Zorian Kazinski has all the time in the world to get stronger, and he plans on taking full advantage of it.
A teenage mage of humble birth and slightly above-average skill, Zorian is attending his third year of education at Cyoria's magical academy. A driven and quiet young man, he is consumed by a desire to ensure his own future and free himself of the influence of his family, resenting the Kazinskis for favoring his brothers over him. Consequently, Zorian has no time for pointless distractions, much less other people's problems.
As it happens, though, time is something he is about to get plenty of.
On the eve of Cyoria's annual summer festival, Zorian is murdered, then abruptly brought back to the beginning of the month, just before he was about to take the train to school. Finding himself trapped in a time loop with no clear end or exit, he will have to look both within and without to unravel the mystery set before him. He does have to unravel it, too, because the loop clearly wasn’t made for his sake, and in a world of magic even a time traveler isn't safe from those who wish him ill.
Fortunately for Zorian, repetition is the mother of learning….

This is hands down my favourite audiobook
Jack voraces is an amazing narrator and really gives life and humour to every single character. I can tell he’s passionate about the story and cares about his performance and it’s really paid off because it’s wonderful!
Overall an amazing story with great characters and a wonderful plot. I was apprehensive at first about a “time loop” because I’m not usually interested in those sorts of stories but the author has done a magnificent job of making the story interesting and engaging.

Just kept getting better!
I loved the story and the narration - there were so many twists and turns, and such variety in character narration! My only critiscism would be that a couple of voices were quite annoying, even if they did fit the characters.
This is one of my favourite series now!

Narration takes some getting used to
Pretty good. I always like a good time loop story. The narration, however, was absolutely insane and way over the top. I kept thinking, 'Wow, that's an interesting choice for a character voice, that's going to get annoying really quickly'. I couldn't help thinking how much more enjoyable this book would have been if they had gone with a different narrator.

Great story but WOW the accents are bad
Time loops are a great fit for progression fantasy - the story is a lot of fun.
The series needs a new narrator though, or the narrator needs a vocal coach - the bad accents are simply painful to listen to, especially the ‘Scottish’ ones

Hot Damn!
A highly recommended story! It kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more. I can't wait for the rest to be released to audible!
The voice actor can get a bit grating with accents/genders but that comes down to personal tastes and all in all they have done a marvelous job!

Slow start but worth it.
Been putting off getting this for ages but final bought it. Start was a little slow but not bad, it was just setting everything up properly. Just like all the other reviews I read it was really good. The MC is done extremely well and come off quite clever and reasonable as apposed to plot armoured. Definitely worth getting just sad book 3 isn't done yet since book 2 will really not last until it does.

So worth it
Listened to the first audiobook, read the 2nd and 3rd online, and loved it so much I bought the 2nd and 3rd audiobook just to support the author and listen to it all over again.
Solid time-loop/magical progression fantasy story, where the mechanics of time travel are fundamental to the plot and explored to its full potential rather than just being a part of the setting. All of Zorians advancement feels earned rather than dropped into his lap. Most of the side characters feel like they eventually get fleshed out rather than just being one note.
The only warning I'd give is that at first Zorian is really irritating. He's arrogant and self-absorbed. Typical edgy/woke teenager who's realised society's a bit warped and feels like he's superior to the people around him because of it. This is by design. He matures slowly, but his growth as a person is a big part of what's so great about the story. Many of the side characters are the same; seeming unreasonable at first, but having their motivations and history unveiled over time to transition from one dimensional to complex. So yeah, don't be put off by how abrasive characters seem at first and you'll find they go from irritating, to intriguing, to compelling, and then suddenly it's 4am and the awareness that you totally shouldn't have spent all night listening to this is warring with that fact that you could totally buy the 2nd book right now.
