About this listen

Tell me, little butterfly, what would you do for love?

In the wake of a crushing defeat, Tisaanah and Maxatarius have been ripped apart. Tisaanah is desperate to rescue Max from his imprisonment, even as her people's fight for freedom grows more treacherous. But within the walls of Ilyzath, Max's mind is a shadow of what it once was . . . leaving his past a mystery and his future at the mercy of Ara's new, ruthless queen.

Meanwhile, in the Fey lands, Aefe has been dragged back into this world by a king who vows to destroy civilizations in her name. But even as her past returns to claim her, her former self is a stranger.

Tisaanah, Max, and Aefe are thrust into the center of a cataclysm between the human and Fey worlds. The unique magic they share is key to either winning the war, or ending it.

But that power demands sacrifice. Tisaanah may be forced to choose between love and duty. Max cannot forge his future without confronting his past. And Aefe must decide between reclaiming who she was, or embracing who she has become.

The choices they make will either reshape this world forever . . . or end it.

Contains mature themes.

The incredible weaving of people and stories. I couldn’t put the first book down. The second book was amazing and the third book I wanted it to finish so badly but at the same time I didn’t want to finish.

Great characters that you wanted to learn more about.

After the previous book I was so excited to start listening to the final book of the series. I loved the way we really got to see the characters relationships develop especially for Afe. I loved and related to her so well. The plot was really good although I feel as though the author rushed the end part of the book and wasted a lot of chapters on the characters romantic lives. Although I liked the ending I still feel as though we never really get to see how Tryell recovers after the rebels fight the lords. And many characters are half forgotten. Either way I enjoyed seeing how complex the magic was and worldbuilding was. A definite recommendation.

A great read

Loved this trilogy would recommend to everyone, think I would of liked just the female narrator to do the whole book, I wasn't fond of the male as it feels like he had a different version of the characters than the female and I personally preferred her version, also he does a breath in thing before speaks, that I found annoying (sorry! 😅) he did get better after the first book but was hard to get thru first book because of it. This story though is Amazing and heart wrecking and amazing again! 😂 If u cant listen to it I'd recommend people just to read it, I'll be buying the limited edition box sets as soon as they come out 💜💜💜💜

The lady narrator was Amazing!!! And the story itself will tear u apart.

I loved this series overall although I found this was the hardest book to get through for some reason. Definitely worth going until the end though.

The part I like most is seeing different perspectives from characters who are on the opposite sides of the conflict - I liked that the "heroes" and the "villains" weren't just clear cut.

Loved this series but this wasn't my favourite book

i enjoyed the series as a whole. The first book was a little slow for me, but I pushed through and I was glad i did, it was a good story in whole. You get behind the characters, mad at the chaos, and felt like a good ending all tied up. a good book set if your between reads

good series

This series was so unexpectedly fantastic! The character and world building was complex and interesting. I loved this serious and I adored the character by through to the very end and loved the final epilogue to wrap it up.

Beautiful story

Such an interesting story with beautifully woven threads throughout. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a more complex tale with a mature voice rather than the regular soda pop that is often dished out to the Fantasy market.

Excellent story & storytelling.

What a great conclusion to this series. As difficult as number two was to get through, this finale I could not put down!
